Scenario two:
Cross decides to leave Nightmare alone, thinking that it'd be better that way. Nightmare realizes he actually really liked the attention, and goes out to find him. Only to see him sitting on the rim of a bridge.

One of them becomes a bitty. No more than four inches high.
