Golden Boy

Chapter 5

(This doesn't really have anything to do with the chapter but I think it kind of works since it's kind of clear what's going to happen later on.)

I turn and head toward the exit and walk into the hallway. It's empty. I look around before spotting him. He's outside in the courtyard. I go to the door and push it open. He looks up at me and I wave.

"Hi..."

"Sorry about earlier again. I didn't mean for that to be weird."

He shakes his head.

"Nah. You said it's what you'd do with your siblings. It makes sense."

"Thanks for understanding."

"Yep."

"So, I left my stuff at the nurses and was wondering if you may have grabbed it?"

"I did. I ran into Coach Alfor and he said he'd take it."

"So it's with him?"

"Probably."

"Thanks!"

I turned and ran back inside. I made my way to the gym where Coach Alfor was putting balls away. He turned at the sound of my footsteps and smiled.

"Come to pick up your stuff?"

"Yep. Thanks for holding it for me."

"Not a problem."

He walked over to the small office and reached inside to grab my stack of books and binders. He turned back with them and handed it to me.

"There you are."

"Thanks."

He nods and I walk back towards the lunch room. I arrive and sit back at the table. Pidge looks at me.

"What took you so long?"

"Keith gave them to Coach Alfor so I had to run down to the gym."
She nods as I move back towards my food.

"That or you were to busy making love eyes at him."

She mumbles to Hunk. He bursts out laughing and I glare at her.

"You."

I point.

"Need to shut it."

She grins a mischievously.

"I'm okay with it. You guys would make a cute couple."

She answers honestly.

"What!"

She shrugs.

"You guys would look good as a couple. The mysterious badass in love with the perfect golden boy."

"Not gonna happen."

"Whatever. I'm just saying."

I watch her confused. What the actual hell?

"Stop looking at me like that and eat your food."

"You sound like my mom."

She looks at me above the rim of her glasses and narrows her eyes.

"So what if I am."

I burst out laughing.

"Oh my god!"

"Priceless."

Hunk comments. She grins and shakes her head.

"Seriously though. If you don't eat your food I will."

I put my hands up.

"Fine, I will."
