Maybe Tomorrow

It's Been a While:

Sungah burst into the apartment, demanding to know where the computer was. She ran to the computer and immediately searched his name, Kim Ryeowook. She took in all she could in a matter of about three hours. She watched music video after music video. She felt tears forming in her eyes at the sight.

"You've made it, Ryeowookie," Sungah whispered as she wiped her happy tears. "Like I always knew you would."

She sat at the computer for another few hours, watching variety show after variety show. How could she not recognize him? After all this time, he was still the same little Ryeowook. Cute, sweet, innocent, funny, and even more attractive.

She pulled out her phone, seeing his number once again in her contact list. He hasn't been in there for quite a while. She clicked his name with her thumb, anxiety filling her gut. She felt nervous as she put the phone to her ear. What if he didn't answer? She hoped he would, but what would she say? She didn't want to say the wrong thing and sound stupid. He was an idol now, he's met many girls that are better than her. For all she knows, he's already moved on. Was that jealousy she just felt?

"Hello?" She heard Ryeowook on the other end, making her jump.

"Yeah, hi. It's me. Finally, right?" Sungah said. She laughed awkwardly.

"Since when do you speak to me so formally?" Ryeowook noticed her formal speech and laughed. Did his laugh get cuter, or was it just her?

"Sorry. Phoenix really messed up my brain I guess." Sungah replied, feeling embarrassed. "And, you're an idol now, so I have to show you respect."

"Don't be silly. And yeah, I guess I am an idol now. How did you know? Did you stalk me online?"

A lot more confident now, wow.

"Maybe I did," Sungah laughed quietly. "I want to ask the famous Kim Ryeowook a question."

"And what is that?"

"I wanted to know if you could, meet me tonight. If-If you're not busy. If you are, I'm sorry, maybe I shouldn't have asked. I must be bothering you-"

"I'm free." Ryeowook interrupted. 'I just got back from a long trip, so I have a couple of days off. Where do you want to meet me?"

Her heart couldn't help but flutter at the sound of his voice. It still sounded exactly the same yet so different. It was so sweet and innocent but was now more mature and confident.

It sure has been a while, Kim Ryeowook.

Ryeowook stood across the street from their meeting spot. He looked and saw it was a Starbucks. He should bring her here afterward. He looked across the street and saw Sungah standing there, looking around, not noticing him. He took a deep breath and walked across the street. He knew he couldn't do anything with her. She belonged to someone else now. Unfortunate.

"Sungah." He called out to her as he stood behind her.

She turned around and stuffed her hands in her pockets. He felt it. Those boundaries when they were friends, were up once again. She gave him a weak smile as if she hasn't done so for a while, even though he just saw her a few hours before. But he could tell she was happy to see him. She hasn't aged a day, but still looked so mature and grown-up. She wasn't a girl anymore. She was a woman.

"Ryeowook," Her voice saying his name was music to his ears. "Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure. What is it?" Ryeowook stepped a little closer cautiously as if she were foreign territory.
