CHAPTER 15

Shunn's POV

Before I plunged into the icy river below.

Mira's POV

"NO!" I shrieked, seeing the huge splash below.

Suddenly, I felt a raw pain burn in the back of my head, and I reached back, when Luke suddenly yelled,

"Don't let go!"

I looked up, and for the first time, his face looked familiar.

"Luke?" I gazed at his face, his grey eyes, forgetting where we were.

"Hold on!" Dan yelled.

That was the last thing I remembered before I blacked out.

"Mira..." I felt someone shaking my shoulder.

"Hm?" I opened my eyes just a bit so I could see who was interrupting my sleep.

Oh. Just Luke.

Closing my eyes, I rolled over again.

Huh?

Luke?

My eyes opened wide, I sat up quickly, accidentally bumping into his chin.

"Ow..." I said, rubbing my head, "What are you doing here?"

He just looked at me.

"Wait...where's Dan?"

"He's in the living room, making calls."

"Oh..."

Suddenly, I felt a huge pressure pressing against my heart.

I...I remembered something...and I forgot something...

But what did I remember?

What did I forget?

Think, Mira...think...

Oh my gosh. I covered my mouth.

"Shunn..." I looked at Luke, begging him with my eyes, hoping with all my heart he would tell it hadn't happened.

He looked at me, his eyes full of pain.

I climbed out of bed, rushing toward the door.

Suddenly, a strong pair of arms grabbed me from behind.

"What are you doing?"

"I...I have to find Shunn! He's still in the river!"

"We're searching! The police are all searching! We can't go back there!"

"I have to! It's my fault! It's all my fault!"

"Stop!" Luke shook me and suddenly, I felt my panic subside a little. Panic at losing Shunn.

"He's going to be alright, okay?" Luke dragged me into his arms, his cheek pressing against the top of my head.

I nodded, breathing in his smell, taking courage from it.

Suddenly, I remembered. I remembered Kate, Dan, Luke, Shunn, everything. I pushed Luke back, my eyes widening.

I looked at him. Really looked at him.

"You remember, don't you?" he asked, his eyes soft.

I looked down and nodded.

"Mira..." he walked toward me, his arms out.
