Chapter 22 (SHUNN)

Shunn's turn! :D

Mira's POV

I love him. I love Shunn.

"Thank you so much..." I whispered.

"I love you too. So much it hurts..."

His trademark grin appeared on his face again.

"Really?"

"Really." I replied, burying my face in his jacket.

"You won't leave me again, right?" I suddenly lifted my face to meet his eyes.

"I won't. I promise."

I grinned through my tears.

"Pinky promise?"

"Pinky promise."

We hooked our pinkies together.

Suddenly, he grabbed my hand, starting to sprint.

"Where are we going?" I yelled at him.

"You'll see!"

"Tell me!"

"No!"

Gasping for breath, I pulled on his arm until he stopped.

"I'm not," I gasped out, "Moving. Until...you tell me...where we're going!"

"Sorry, honey. No can do." He flashed a smile and starting running again, but this time at a slower pace.

"It's getting dark out..." I looked into the night sky. Wow...you can even see the stars now...

"Yeah." Suddenly, Shunn stopped.

"Oof." I bumped into his back.

"Why'd you stop?" I complained, rubbing my poor, sore nose.

"Because we're here. Look around."

Glancing around, I took in the trees, the grass, the playground...the swings...

My head whipped around to face Shunn.

He looked at me, his eyes shimmering with warmth.

"Remember?" He asked. He didn't need to say more.

I glanced at the swing and walking over, I sat down. My hands traced over the wooden bottom, the metal chains.

Shunn walked closer, standing behind me. Sitting down on the grass, he pulled me off the swing next to him. Wrapping his arm around me, he used his other hand to point toward the stars.

"A little girl once told me that when you look at a star, you see a person's heart and the person will always be watching over you." He turned to look at me.

"But my heart's disappeared." He stated gloomily.

"What?" I didn't quite understand what he was getting at.

"It's disappeared...right here." He took my hand, placing it on his chest.

I could feel his heartbeat, beating so strongly under my hand.

"What are you talking about?"

"It's gone with you, Mira...you've stolen my heart."

Finally, I smiled.

"It's ok. Because you've taken my heart too." I took his hand holding mine, and I placed it near where my heart was.

"Umm...Mira?"

"Yeah?" I replied, my voice soft with anticipation.

"Your heart's on the other side."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"Leave it up to you to ruin a moment! I'm leaving!" Huffing indignantly, I got up, prepared to leave.

"No! I was just kidding!" Shunn grinned and pulled me back down.

"I promise I'll never leave you again." He whispered in my ear.

Turning my face toward him, he leaned in, his lips gently seeking mine.
