"Can I drive you home after the party?" Archie asked me, the fourth time he had tried to come up and talk to me since the fight next to the drink table.
"I'm helping Betty clean up then she's taking me home." I coldly told him.
"Listen, I'm not trying to keep stuff from you, just everyone's trying to work thing out. Then you'll be in the know."
"If it's about me I want to be in the know now." I said, looking him in the eyes.
"I want you to be in the know too, it's just too soon." He said, sounding and looking apologetic. "Look, it's nothing bad, okay. If anything it will be a good thing."
"What's it about?" I asked him. "The least you can do is tell me that."
"It's about your safety."
"I'm sick of the whole 'my safety' crap!" I groaned. "It was one break in, not a big deal, I'm fine!"
"It is a big deal though." He shook his head. "We need to do everything we can to keep you all safe."
"Listen I don't need you acting like this, you're supposed to be my friend."
"Friends look out for each other." Archie said as he put his hand on my shoulder. "That's what I'm trying to do."
"I need to get back to the party I helped set up." I said as I stood up and walked away from him.
"You and Archie okay?" Betty asked me as she walked up to me.
"Yeah." I lied. I looked and saw that Betty wasn't buying my response. "Actually no, but it's nothing we can talk about here."
"Then we can talk later." She smiled. "Me and you on the car ride home."
"Perfect." I smiled.

"Thanks for cleaning up, guys, and for the party." Polly said as she put her coat on. "Betty, see you at home?"
"Of course!" Betty waved goodbye to her.
"Anything else you want me to do Betty?" I asked her.
"Nope, I think we're done." She said as she looked around the clean area. "Ready to go?" I nodded yes.
We both put our coats on and went out to Betty's mom's car that she was letting her borrow. "So tell me what's up. I want to know before school tomorrow." She joked.
I sighed, not knowing where to start. "It's a lot to take in, at least for me."
Betty gave me a weird look. "I've had a lot happen, hit me with it."
"I'll simplify the story as much as possible." I told her, she nodded that she was listening as she continued to drive. "Well my sisters and I were all allowed to bring friends to family dinner. My mom and sister practically forced me to invite Archie, not that it really mattered, and Jenna brought Reggie. They kissed and were acting all boyfriend and girlfriend even though hours before Reggie thought her name was Jessica when I went to his house looking for her."
"Not to mention when they were kissing at the party." Betty added.
My eyes widened. "What?" I asked her.
"Yeah when I 'attacked' Reggie?" She asked me. "That was why, he was kissing your sister and i was disgusted because she's new to town and he's literally the worst!"
I put the palm of my hand against my forehead, trying to take it all in. "Why am I not surprised?" I said, feeling a headache coming on. "And then he kissed me in the foyer while Jenna was searching for the coat that he had the whole time!"
Betty quickly tapped on the breaks, jolting us forward. "Wait what?"
I nodded my head. "Yeah. Then he threatened me not to start stuff with him or bring Archie into it, or else he'll tell Jenna we kissed."
"Are you kidding me?" She asked me. "I mean obviously you're not but that's ridiculous!"
"You're telling me." I shook my head.
"As if you don't already have enough going on. Gosh I can't believe him!"
"I can." I shook my head as I watched the houses fly by as I watched out the window.
