One week later
Cheryl awoke the next morning at four and couldn't fall back asleep. It was the day of her mother dearest's funeral. She showered and blow dried her hair. Then she brushed her teeth, hair, and changed into a long sleeveless black gown completed with long black gloves and a few white rings on her fingers. She was also wearing a pearl necklace similar to Veronica's. She then put on her make up. By the time she was done, it was 5:15am. The funeral wasn't until 7am, so she decided to practice the song she'd be singing at the service. That song is Hurts Like Hell by Fleurie. She practiced again and again until she got it perfect. By the time she got the song perfect and memorized, it was time to go. She slipped on a pair of black stilettos and went outside to her car.
She made it to the church by 7:15 and the service was about to begin. The first person she saw was Toni. She was really happy Toni was here. "Hey, beautiful." Toni complimented her. Toni honestly could not keep her eyes off the red hot fiery girl that was in front of her. Cheryl smiled. "Thank you." She replied. Toni pulled her in for a hug. "You're gonna be amazing." Toni whispered in Cheryl's ear, referring to the song Cheryl was going to sing. Cheryl smiled at Toni's encouragement. Cheryl was a ball of emotions. She was nervous because, truth be told, she'd never really sang in public before. She was sad, to see her mumsy in a coffin. She was relieved that Toni was here, being her support beam. It was time for Cheryl to sing.
She stepped up to the podium and adjusted the microphone.

"How can I say this without breaking?
How can I say this without taking over?
How can I put it down into words when it's
almost too much for my soul alone?
I loved and I loved and I lost you
I loved and I loved and I lost you
I loved and I loved and I lost you
And it hurts like hell
Yeah it hurts like hell"

Instead of finishing the song, Cheryl ran off with tears in her eyes. Everyone eyed the poor girl with pity. Except for Toni. Toni wrapped her arms around Cheryl's and let her cry on her shoulders. She rubbed comforting circles into her back and whispered words of comfort into Cheryl's ear.

After the service

Cheryl was about to leave when she heard a voice from beside her. "Do you want me to come over?" Toni asked her. Cheryl jumped. "You scared me!" They both laughed, happy to be in each other's company. "And yes, I'd love that." Cheryl answered her earlier question. "Need a ride?" Toni asked Cheryl. Cheryl shook her head. "I brought my car." She informed her friend. Toni nodded. "Shall we?" She asked and gestured to the exit, extending her arm. "We shall." Cheryl said and took Toni's arm in hers. They went outside as Cheryl slid in her car and Toni got on her motorcycle. Cheryl drove home with Toni close behind.

Later at Thistle House

The scarlet haired beauty got out of the car and shut the door as the Serpent Queen pulled into her driveway, with her bike, looking like a badass. Cheryl held back a chuckle. Cheryl pulled out her house keys and was about to open the door, when Toni snatched the keys. "Hey!" Cheryl yelled. "I'll open the door." Toni joked and opened the door for her. "After you, ma Cherie." She joked again. Cheryl giggled and walked in. Toni walked in after her and shut the door. "Hey, Cheryl?" "Yeah?" "Catch." She threw the house keys at the scarlet haired beauty. Cheryl caught them and hung them on the key hook.
"What do we do now?" Toni asked Cheryl. "It's up to you." Toni told her. "I'm kind of tired after the ceremony." The cheerleader told the female serpent. "Would you mind sleeping next to me?" She asked Toni timidly. "I don't want to be alone." Smiling widely, happy, and tired herself, Toni nodded. "Yeah, I'd like that."
They made their way to Cheryl's bedroom. Cheryl climbed into her queen sized bed, Toni following suit. Toni wrapped her arms around Cheryl's middle and soon enough, both girls were fast asleep in each other's arms.
