"He's all over the globe," Maria told us. "Robotics labs, weapons facilities, jet propulsion labs, reports of a metal man, or men, coming in and emptying out the place."
"Fatalities," Steve asked.
"Only when engaged," Maria reported. "Mostly guys left in a fugue state going on about old memories, worst fears, and something too fast to see."
Something too fast to see-it couldn't be-
"Maximoffs," Steve confirmed. "Well that makes sense that he'd go to them, they have something in common."
I felt a sense of dread in my stomach. I did not want Pietro as my enemy.
"Not anymore," Maria told Steve as she handed him a tablet. Steve's serious expression was scaring me, and I was wondering what was on the screen.
Clint was a few feet away in the hallway, talking on the phone. "That's a negative. I answer to you. Yes ma'am."
I thought Nick Fury was Clint's boss. Who was the woman?
"Barton, we might have something," Steve interrupted.
"Gotta go," Clint told the person on the phone, and then he hung up.
"Who was that?" Steve asked Clint.
"Girlfriend," Clint replied with a slight smirk.
Steve gathered up the rest of the group and soon we were all waiting for whatever Steve had found. He showed us a picture of Strucker covered in blood and the word 'PEACE" written above him. I could feel Natasha and Dr. Banner looking at me worriedly.
I, however, felt nothing. He did experiments on me, and every time I blacked out. He kept me locked in a cell 24/7, and made my life hell. I should have been out in the real world with my mother and father living a young teen's life, but instead I was stuck in that hell hole, and it was all because of Strucker.
The only thing that concerned me about this situation, was that the blood and gore didn't bother me. Sure, when I had training in Hydra, I had seen a few accidents, but never death. They never let me see those training's.
"What's this," Tony asked.
"A message from Ultron," Steve said seriously.
"And he did a Bansky at the scene, just for us," Tony remarked sarcastically. Oh my Stars Tony, not now.
"This is a smokescreen," Nat pointed out, ignoring Tony. "Why send a message, when you've just given a speech?"
"Strucker knew something that Ultron wanted us to miss," Steve said.
"Yeah I bet..." Natasha looked at the computer. "Everything we had on Strucker has been erased."
Yeah, Strucker had a lot of secrets, and underground trading, but why would that bother Ultron?
"Not everything," Tony told the team. The look on his face did not look reassuring.
We had been going through files for a while now. My butt hurt from sitting on the hard floor, and I was surrounded by file boxes.
Tony told me that I should go watch TV or something in the living room, and leave the work to the team, and although that did sting, I insisted that since I've been in Hydra, that I should help, in case I recognize something important.
They finally gave in, and so here I was, regretting my decision, because I had lost all feeling in my bum.
"Known associates. Well Strucker had a lot of friends," Steve dully noted as he shifted through some papers.
