Chapter 18

We practiced a lot and soon it was time for the last practice of the day.

The song played and Manik extended his hand towards me.

He twirled me and lowered me. Just then my foot slipped and I was about to fall.

I closed my eyes in fear. I felt a strong pair of hands wrapped around my waist.

I opened my eyes and saw him staring directly into my eyes.

We both straightened up but his hands were still on my waist.

His eyes never left mine. The smell of his Cologne was lingering in my nose.

He squeezeed my waist lightly and leaned forward.his eyes were on me looking for consent.  I leaned forward.

My heartbeat fastened! We were about to kiss just then the music stopped.

It was like a bucket of cold water was thrown at us. We both straightened up and parted away.

"Thanks! I thought I was going to fall." I said trying to break the tension.

"I will never let you fall." He said

His eyes were so sincere that I shuddered under his gaze.

"I should go!" I said, picked my bag and ran out of the room.

Were we really about to kiss?

Do I like him?

But it's been like what 2 months?

Then why am I so attracted to him?

These thoughts were running in my head when someone yelled my name.

"Nandini! Sale! Mall! Off!" Navya said panting

"What?" I asked unable to understand her.

"These is a sale in R-city mall. Let's go!!" She said and we both rushed out.

Abhimanyu was driving and Aryaman was sitting beside him and Sara was sitting behind.

I and Navya Sat down too.

"So! Lets go!" Sara yelled and the car started.

"So Sara how was your practice?" Navya asked

"It was...." Sara started but Aryaman interrupted her.

"No disclosing information!" Aryaman said

"What information? Am I not supposed to tell that you tripped and fell flat on your ass while doing moonwalk ?" She asked and we started laughing!

"How is that even possible?" I asked laughing

"Oh! You should have seen it. He has a completely different idea of Moon walk!" Sara said and we all laughed again.

"And then he was all like mumma! Mumma!" Sara said and I had tears in my eyes due to laughing.

"How was your nandini?" Abhimanyu asked and my mind drifted to our almost kiss.

"It was fine!" I said and he nodded.

"How did it go with Mukti? She looks scary" Aryaman asked  abhimanyu

***flashback (1 hr ago)***
Abhimanyu's pov

"Soo...." I started but she cut Me off.

"Look i came here only for the sake of my friends. So let's just get over with it." She said

"Why are you always this angry? Chill!" I said

She took a deep breath.

"I am not in a mood to dance today!" She said

"No problem! How about we just select a song today?" I asked and her expressions relaxed. She just nodded.

I took out my ear phones and sat in the corner.

"Shit!" She murmured

"What happened?" I asked

"I forgot my ear phones. Good! Great! " she said

"Hey chill! We can share one." I offered

She thought about it and agreed.

We both Sat side by side sharing one earphone.

"What about this song?" I asked her

"Too cheesy"

"Too slow"

"Too fast".....

And this went on

" hey what about this?" I asked but got no answer.

I looked at her and she was sleeping. She kept her head on my shoulder.

One strand of her hair fell on her forehead and she got irritated in her sleep. I carefully tucked it behind her ear.

She looked so pale as if she was tired of fighting. Afraid of showing her weakness to everybody.

She was so innocent yet fiery.

She was like a mystery and I wanted to unravel it.

"Abhimanyu? How was it?"

"Nice!" I said with a smile.
