Mordred practically kicked the stock doors in, his face was too pale. He rushed over and ripped the stock keys form his clothes, then all but tore the cell doors off it's rusted hinges. Mordred looked at the startled and shocked knights,
"Move, now! We have to save Merlin before it's too late!" All the knights flooded from the cells and grabbed some swords and knives to fight. They followed Mordred, Merlin's screams were flooding the corridors. They burst into a room, only to see Merlin beaten and bleeding, almost beyond help. The guards that surrounded Morgona spun around and ran towards the knights, who fought back almost immediately. All the knights had one thought and one thought alone.
Save Merlin.
Arthur and the others slashed and cut, punched and fought. Minutes later, Morgona stood alone, a large knife in one hand, a handful of Merlin's hair in the other. The knife pressed dangerously hard to Merlin's throat. All the knights stepped forward and Morgona slammed the knife into Merlin's chest, drawing a pained and blood-curtling scream from the already beaten and bruised brunette. Mordred grit his teeth and hissed something, lifting his hand. Morgona froze and dropped the bloody knife, her skin paling and her eyes rolling into the back of her head. Morgona screamed and her hand paled, it started to fall apart almost as if it were ash. Morgona fell to the ground, her dress fell numbly but Morgona was no longer there. She was nothing more than a pile of dust and ash. All the knights rushed forward and pulled Merlin away from the dusted remains of Morgona.
Merlin's eyes were rolling into his skull, his face covered in blood. His pupils were wide as disks, he was fading in and out of consciousness. Mordred looked at Merlin, then to the knights.
"Merlin will die if we do not get him to a special and magical place.. It's our only chance." All the knights looked at Mordred, the brunette swallowed hard and lifted Merlin's numb and unconscious body. Mordred looked at the knights,
"If you want to return to your kingdoms, I will take Merlin to the ruins myself. I promised.." All the knights stepped forward and Gwaine hissed,
"We are not letting you take Merlin anywhere!" Mordred looked at the long haired brunette in front of him, and practically screamed,
"SO YOU WANT HIM TO DIE?!" All the color drained from gwaines face, Leon whispered,
"What are you talking about Mordred?" Mordred grabbed the knife Morgona had used to stab Merlin and held it towards the knights so they could see it,
"This blade is enchanted. The wound it creates will not heal by natural means. No potions, no bandaging, no natural healing. If we do not get him to the ruins in time, Merlin will die." All the knights looked down at Merlin, who was still just barley conscious. The color was draining from his face and his eyes were rolling into his head every few seconds, he had a deep cut in his cheek, shoulder and side. Blood was drenching his torn and tattered clothing, and pooling on the floor slightly. All the knights looked at each other, then looked at Mordred, who was kneeling next to Merlin and putting pressure on the serious wounds. All the knights eyes eventually fell onto Merlin's pained and pale face, then they all set their jaws and Arthur stepped forward,
"Fine, Mordred. Fine. But we're coming with you to these 'ruins'." Mordred looked up briefly, and nodded weakly.
"Of course." All the knights rushed forward and began to help Merlin. Eventually Merlin was lifted up by Mordred and Arthur, his arms wrapped around the blondes and the brunettes necks and shoulders. As the group started to move towards the stables, where the horses were, Mordred had disappeared and reappeared with a thick blanket, which he had wrapped around the injured sorcerer. Mordred helped lift Merlin onto a horse, he was laying down on it encase Merlin fell into full unconsciousness. All the knights began to move out of the castle quickly when Merlin groaned out painfully and groggily,
"Leave me here... Let me die.." All the knights froze and looked at the barely conscious Merlin, wondering if he was talking from a delusional state due to the pain or if he were serious.
Mordred set his jaw and whispered loudly,
"He's serious.."
