Guide from Polaris

Chapter 1

Here we go . First episode ......

Anouk

As soon as I heard my phone ringing,  I knew I'm in trouble.  So I hurried towards the  elevator . Today is one of my lucky days I guess because within few minutes familiar ping sound came announcing the elevator's arrival . I raced inside ignoring strange looks I got from the people and stay deaf to my ringing phone .

As soon as I reached towards the first floor , I ran out of the front doors taking out my phone  from the bag. 

5 missed calls .

I barely made out of the front door when another call came . I answered it this time trying hard not to sound like I'm breathless.

" Hell..."I couldn't finish the word cause the loud screaming voice made cringe and take my phone away from my poor year .

"Anouk Star Abbott " My best friend Lyra Novell aka She Devil.

"Oh hell Lyra are trying to make me deaf ? Don't shout . I can hear you well . I don't have any hearing problems remembered?  " I hissed at her .

"Stop wasting your breathes . You know I'm  not going to caught in to your acts "I sighed knowing it's useless arguing with her .

"Why the hell you didn't answer my calls earlier? Where the hell are you ? Don't tell me you are still at that damn hospital?  " Ahh , she still screaming. 

"Phone was on silent mode so obviously I didn't hear it "I ginned .

"Don't be a  smartass Anouk  "

"And no I'm not in the hospital " I mentally high fived knowing I'm just few steps away from the main door of the hospital.  Mission completed.

"Of course not you are just few steps away from that damn hospital Anouk"

"How do you know ?" I looked around to look if Lyra  is here . But no , I couldn't find a single trace about Lyra .

"Idiot , We have this conversation almost every week .Of course , I know about you " I should have known she knows me better .

"Okay ,Okay , I surrender Lyra " I won't ever win any arguments with her because she is more professional  talker than me . She is a Lawyer for god's sake . It's  her damn job .

"How many times should I tell you Anouk,  it's  not healthy?  It's  already mid night "Her whole demeanor changed.  My caring best friend is back .

"I know . I know Lyra . I will go home quickly and rest .  Okay?  " I looked at my wrist watch saw it's past 12 now . She is right . I can't  believe I lost the track of the time again.

"You are not going to hire a taxi , are you? You are going to walk "She asked sadly . Every time she ask that question like she could change my mind.

"It's only 30 minutes walk and it's not easy to find a cab at midnight and Lyra don't  worry ,  I'm healthy as a horse " I started to walk knowing she is going to stay with the call until I reach my apartment.

"It's  dangerous to walk alone in the midnight for a girl or a man . You should at least leave before it's 12 " She continued talking and I listened to her . She is keeping me company .

"There are few people in the road Lyra . You worry too much girl . You are going to have lines on your forehead from too much frowning. Listen to your doctor " I teased her trying to make the situation light . I lied to her obviously , I'm the only one walking on the road . She is right . I'm  playing a dangerous game and one day I may have to  pay a big prize for that .
