Anouk

"He is still standing over there staring at you " Helly one of the nurses who work with me whispered to my ear . I turned towards his direction. He is standing near to the door leaning against the wall and watching my actions in a lazy manner . Gosh , he is impossible . I don't know why he is acting this way . Too stubborn for his own good . I recognized the look in his eyes. He is daring me to walk near to him and say to get lost . Like I would be stupid to that .I would become the center of the gossips. He visited our Pediatric ward more often since he become the new owner and I don't think it's just because I work here .

"You didn't do anything wrong right ? "I shook my head in denial . Like I would be stupid to mess with him .

" Hundred percent ?Not a word to offend him or something like that?" I rolled my eyes at her . Seriously I hardly talk to anyone here beside them if it's highly necessary. They should know that already.

"Don't be naive Holly . It's Anouk we are talking about . Have you ever seen her talk to someone like that way ? She stays deaf to that Barbie doll's insults . Hearing her bitching around makes me want to smack her head to the wall " Rebecca said in a annoyed tone . Exactly . Between Holly and Rebecca she is the one thinks with her brain .

"Woah Rebecca stop swearing . There's small children around here . What's with your violent thoughts ?" I teased her . She shrugged in reply .

"It's so hard to do nothing after hearing her insults . You never do anything " Her sad smile broke my heart . I know they want defend me but it's useless . People like Annebelle won't stop until she gets tired . So the wise choice is to keep mute her useless words .

"But the most things she talks is true " They know that I'm broken . Lyra is the only one knows about my exact situation and now North . I like to keep it that way .I don't want anyone's pity on me or my family members . I got everything covered and we will get through our bad times together.

"Alleric Wilder is famous for taking revenge in cruelest ways . Even though it's so hard to provoke him . People fears when they hear his name " I listened to her with newly found interest . This man asked me out last night and waiting for my answer for god's sake . You can't blame me for being curious about him .

"Really ?"

"Yeah , no one knows about his family or any other personal information . He is so private and he visits Italy often . They say he has some relation with Italy . May be he is from Italy " I focused on my new patient. 4 years old boy named Harry . He is adorable with his blonde hair and blue eyes . Once I injected his shot he started to scream .

Shit . Did I hurt him ? I was listening to Holly talking about North . Damn it .

Holly and Rebecca tried to soothe him . But that stubborn boy pushed them away . Our last talk about Alleric was long forgotten. Harry reached towards me motioning me to lift him from the bed . This little cheater .His fake tears were threatening to spill.

I can't believe we fell into his old trick . I lifted him and placed him on my hip chuckling . All of a sudden his cries stopped at once. Holly sighed dramatically when I wiped his tears away .

"Can't believe we fell into his trick again " Rebecca mumbled collecting my stuff .Harry is the last to checkup in my morning shift. He always demand to carry him around after my checkup is over .

Harry sucked his tongue at Holly and Rebecca and hide his head in my neck hugging me tightly like a monkey . I laughed at them. Harry's mother tried to get him when she noticed he doesn't have any plan to let go of me .

"It's alright" I said securing him into my body . He is getting heavier since he is recovering .

"Anouk , you want something ?" Holly asked me . They are heading to cafeteria as usual . I waved them off knowing North probably want to have lunch together.
