She told me I have a 1.4 cm pineal gland cyst. She said it was normal to have a tumor. A tumor in the exact center of my brain. My so called harmless tumor is bigger than most. Small/ most pineal cysts are not larger than 0.5 cm, most neurologists, neurosurgeons, and others in the neurological and general medical field will never see a pineal cyst larger than 0.5 cm in their career.

Most doctors know close to nothing about the pineal gland, it is the most unexplored and unexplain part of the brain. Mostly because it is in the exact center if the brain. My tumor was found during my first MRI after being diagnosed with migraines with aura two months earlier. I was referred to go to a pediatric neurosurgeon by my neurologist to track and make sure it doesn't grow. My neurologist wad pretty sure that the cyst was not causing my migraines. But as I read and learned more about pineal gland cysts, I wasn't so sure. In some cases the cyst can be symptomatic. Many doctors don't believe it is because there is not an identified use or importance of the pineal gland. It does not do much or have any major functions so why should doctors believe it can do any harm.
