His fire burns bright. Like a star in the darkest of skies he roars with an intensity unknown to humankind, trembling the world around him. His power, fully awakened, is the key to salvation, but also damnation. They know him as Ryu, but his true name is . . . Nova.

There's no escape. Kane's fate is sealed within the walls of the apartment complex as he watches Ryu's power escalate to levels he's never witnessed. His heart beats out of his chest, overwhelming his sense of sound. His lungs constricting as he's gravikinetically whisked into the air, keeping his fear-stricken gaze fixated upon Ryu.

His skin is gradually disintegrating as is the matter surrounding them. His veins are filling up with an untamable fire that wants to be free. His apartment is gradually shred apart as his heliokinetic abilities begin to manifest in their full glory. And his eyes— his eyes are filled with an uncontrollable bloodlust for revenge that needs to be satisfied.

The sight of him is catastrophically beautiful.

With a maniacal smile upon his face, Ryu's jaw unhinge. The flesh upon his cheeks tearing apart causing blood to splatter. Revealing his large, extended, snake-like mouth with rows of razor-sharp fangs similar to that of a shark. He gravikinetically pulls Kane closer while levitating into the air, strands of hair transmuting to streams of solar-fire that blows wildly.

"Do you believe in, God, Kane?" He asks, tilting his head slightly to the left.

"No."

A low snarl. "You should." Gravikinetically pulling him in closer, opening his mouth to bite him.

"Please don't. It wasn't my fault. I—"

"Silence!" He exclaims, his voice deep and resounding. Discharging a cataclysmic outburst of gravitational energy sending Kane flying back forcefully, destroying the walls of his apartment causing the gravikinetically whisked objects to fall from the sky to the streets below. Hovering over to Kane.

"You have to believe me, Ryu!" Kane pleads, wiping the blood from his mouth. Slowly moving to his feet, a hand gracing his broken ribs. Hunching his shoulders.

"I didn't—"

With the flick of his hand, Ryu gravikinetically punches Kane in his stomach. The thunderous force causing him to lose his breath and fall to his knees.

"Do you know how much my family's death affected me, Kane?" Grabbing and lifting him into the air by his neck, the solar-fire gradually burning the flesh eliciting screams of anguish.

Kane's struggles a great deal until his body goes limp. He doesn't have the energy to fight back, and he didn't want to. In his mind, he deserves this. He took away someone's family just to continue living in some deluded fantasy that Maze cares about him when he's just as much of a pawn as everyone else in his life.

With his gaze fixated upon Ryu who's slowly transitioning to a being composed of pure solar-fire, tears form streams on his cheeks. Accepting his punishment.

"Kill me." His will to live gone.

A maniacal smile graces Ryu's lips. "With pleasure." A much more grittier snarl, placing his other hand upon Kane's face. Gradually burning away his mind, and skin.

Kane grunts lowly, his body convulsing from Ryu's power coursing through his mind and body erasing everything he is. However, this triggers Ryu. He can feel the overwhelming sense of guilt and sadness as his power expands inside of Kane's mind, and that's when he realizes Kane doesn't deserve to die.
