Escaping the Madness
Johnny finally came back... hammered... we shooed him right off to bed. His Aunt Janet and Uncle Dan had also went to bed- they were beat... Which was great because I could not pry the little girl from me since she woke back up - which wasn't bad... but man did she ask a lot of fucking questions.
I am not child friendly.
"It's going to be getting dark soon... what, is she out drinking just like John?" Aunt, maybe Jenny it was? You know I was nervous about the parents... but they're okay... then the first aunt and uncle are okay ... but these two...
Insufferable.
"She went for a ride on her horse." Levi said, a hint of acid dripping from his words.
I never felt more awkward... I came here with Johnny- and I've spent more time with his family - alone... than with him.
I don't mind being with Bailey for the obvious reasoning but ... okay I'm sitting in a living room literally inbetween mean side of the family...and nice side of the family...
And a 4 year old speaking to a fucking bunny.
"It is a little weird, she's been gone for a few hours... Maybe I should go find her." Levi said getting up.
"I'll go." I said literally jumping to my feet.
"You sure, you don't know the land like I do."
"I'll wake up Johnny." I shrugged.
I went upstairs to Johnny's room and ripped the blankets from him in an effort to wake him up.
Nothing.
"Johnny!" I said shaking his bed.
Nothing.
"JOHNNY FUCKING CHRIST GET YOUR MIDGET ASS UP!" I said punching his arm.
Not. A. Damn. Thing.
I smiled, considering myself a genius as I took a firm grip on the mattress... he was gonna hate me.
"Well, Mr. Seward- seems like your stay here has come to an abrupt end." I said suavely just before tossing him and the mattress over.
"dude... What the.. Whoa." Johnny mumbled. Emerging from the flipped bed. He crawled out just enough, before grabbing a shirt to use as a blanket - going back to sleep.
"We have to go get your sister." I said softly kicking him. It didn't hurt him, more or less was just a nudge.
"Why?" He asked covering his eyes from the light.
"Cause she's been gone for 4 hours its getting dark." I said in a duh tone. "Levi is worried."
"Tell him to go get her."
"We're going. Get the fuck up." I said picking his midget ass up.
"Fine." He sighed. "Grab me a hoodie, and some sunglasses.... and a beer."
After what seemed like 4 years, he was leading me down to the barn.
"Dude, I'm not riding a horse." I said wearily.
"Me either. But I'm not driving a quad either... I'm gonna puke just walking."
"We'll just walk... it'll take a little longer... but it's the safest route." I said as he lead us down the field to some bridge.
"Bailey!" Johnny yelled. "Get your ass up here! I'm not looking forever!"
