10 ~ Between Us

Mark and Donghyuck walked to school.

First time they walked to school together.

Donghyuck got a message from Renjun:

oldcow: Donghyuck! There's a new kid at school! His name is Wong Yukhei.

hyuckieducky: i am delighted

oldcow: he's handsome ahh

hyuckieducky: more handsome than me?

oldcow: Yeah way more

hyuckieducky: ;(

oldcow: Oh hyuck i was just kidding

oldcow: you are very handsome ;)

Donghyuck smiled.

Mark looked at the younger's wide grin and then looked at his phone.

"Who's that?"

"Hm?" Donghyuck asked, surprised.

"Who is that you're texting?"

"Nobody.."

"Oh please, like I'd fall for that old trick."

"Why are you asking, hmm?"

"I read what they said, Hyuck."

Donghyuck blushed, he really did read the texts.

He decided to keep playing around with Mark.

"Nunya B."

"I have the right to know!" Mark said through gritted teeth. He felt like snatching the phone away.

"Why are you so angry?"

"Just tell me, jesus!"

"Oh fine, it's Renjun."

"Oh."

"Why? Did you think I have a boyfriend?"

Mark felt embarrassed, "No.."

"If you like me, just tell me."

"I do not!"

"Sure.. oh look we're here."

Their group of friends were waiting near the fountain, talking to this tall and handsome guy.

"Sup." Said Donghyuck.

Mark waved.

"Hello, you two. This is the Yukhei guy I was talking about. We volunteered to be his friend." Renjun said.

"I don't know if it's right to volunteer to be someone's friend-" Mark commented.

"AHEM so Yukhei, introduce yourself."

"Hello, I'm Wong Yukhei." He said, shaking Mark's hand.

Yukhei turned to Donghyuck and said, "I'm Yukhei, but you can call me Lucas." He said with a wink, and he pat the younger on the back.

Donghyuck didn't know how to react and just nodded.

Mark caught the older's little wink and became suspicious of him.

"So, Yukhei, can we call you Lucas as well?"

"Sorry, only this cutie." Lucas said, putting an arm around Donghyuck's shoulder.

Mark became a bit annoyed.

"Yukhei hyung, where are you from?" Chenle asked.

"I moved here from Hong Kong, and boy was it the greatest thing to happen because I have seen an angel." Lucas said, holding Donghyuck closer.

Donghyuck was getting very uncomfortable.

"Say.. um.. Yukhei.. you like Donghyuck quite a bit already.. I can see." Said Jaemin.

Jeno noticed Donghyuck's facial expression, "Yeah, can you let go a bit? I think you're hugging him a little too tight heh.."

Mark was literally fuming.

Donghyuck noticed this and decided to tease him by saying, "No Lucas! Keep hugging me please."

Lucas smiled and did as told.

Mark excused himself, "I'm gonna go to the restroom.."

He stormed away.

The next day..

Mark was walking home from school with Donghyuck, going to his house to do the project.

They heard fast footsteps and panting behind them and looked.

It was Lucas.

Lucas went in the middle of Mark and Donghyuck, putting his arm around the youngest.

"Hey, Donghyuck. Wanna go get some ice cream? I'll pay."

"Ah I would love to, Lucas, but I have to go to Mark's house to do a project."

Lucas made a sad face.

Donghyuck went on his tippy toes and pinched his cheeks, saying "Don't be sad! We can go tomorrow!"

Lucas' face brightened. "Yay! I'll be going now, bye guys!"

Donghyuck happily waved.

"Why are you so nice to him?" Mark asked, they were sitting in his room.

"He's a nice guy."

"Yeah but he's a bit clingy, don't ya think?" Mark said a little too harshly.

"Mark! You can't judge someone you just met! He only came yesterday, but by the looks of it he seems very nice."

"What do you think of him?"

"Well.. what do you mean by that..?"

"Do you think he's cute? Has a nice personality?"

"O-Of course he has a nice personality, I've said that.. On top of that, he's really cute, not lying."

Mark was fuming again.

"Why are you so mad?"

"Nothing happened. Hormones yep yes they're back mhm.."

"There is a reason, say it."

"I don't want to tell you."

"Are you.. jealous?"

Mark blushed furiously, and he was still mad.

"I am not."

"You are~"

"I said, I'm not jealous."

"Stop lying! You know you areee!"

"AM NOT."

"Stop lying to me, Markie.." Donghyuck teased.

"Shut up."

"Huh?"

"I SAID, SHUT. UP."

"Why are you so damn sen-"

Mark grabbed Donghyuck and pinned him against the wall.

Donghyuck was shocked and started sweating, the look of anger in Mark's eyes frightened him.

"Stay away from Lucas."

"W-Why."

"Because. I said so."

"But why?"

"I don't want him to.."

"To?"

"LET ME TALK GODDAMMIT!" Mark exclaimed, the pressure he put on Donghyuck's wrists increasing.

Donghyuck trembled and whimpered in fear, nodding his head obediently.

Mark noticed this and let go. He sighed.

"I-.. I don't want him getting in between us.."

Donghyuck blinked in confusion, "Hm?"

"I don't want Lucas to steal you away from me."
