New match

"Hello?" He asked again. I quickly got over my fan girl moment with Penelope and answered in the most casual voice I could conjure up.

"Hey. Is this Leonardo?" I asked, biting my lip and staring at the girl across from me who gave me an encouraging thumbs up.

"Yes it is," he said a bit sceptical "and who am I speaking to?"  He questioned, honestly sounding a bit threatening.

"Oh yeah! Sorry this is (y/n)" I spoke hoping he would remember.

Instantly his voice softened up as he spoke again.
"(Y/n), hey! Sorry bout that. Sorta forgot my number was on the account. Should probably change that later on huh?"

Penelope and I couldn't help but giggle. Hers a little louder than mine.

"Are you with a friend?" He asked

"Yeah, this is Penelope!" I put the phone on speaker so they could hear better.

"Hi! Nice to meet you," she said as bubbly as possible.

"Likewise," he responded.

"So what are you doing today?" I asked, trying to make conversation.

"Nothing really, going out again tonight with my brothers for....a hang out session. What about you?"

I looked over to Penelope to see her mouth 'hang out session' with a curious look on her face. I just shrugged and continued.

"Nothing really. I just moved here so I don't know any places to go," before I could say anything else Penelope stole my phone and began to speak.

"What about this," she paused then looked up at me then continued "I get out around 2:00 this afternoon. Since we all have nothing on, how about we meet up? Get to know everyone better," she handed back the phone looking very proud of herself. The other side of the line went silent. We waited for a second, glancing at each other before Leonardo finally spoke up.

"I don't think that will be a very good idea,"
He said back in his serious voice.

"How come?" Penelope questioned with a whine.

"Oh uh.." he sounded like he was trying to hide something. "I'm sick at the moment..yeah sick, and I don't want to spread it to you girls," he then proceeded to do the saddest cough either of us had ever heard.

We all went silent for a second.

"Well, if you say so...anyway we should go and if you're sick you should probably rest. Talk to you later?" I asked sorta disappointed.

"Yeah sure,"

"Bye Leonardo,"

"You can just call me Leo, bye (y/n)" and with that he hung up.

"He didn't even say goodbye to me," Penelope said while sipping on her coffee. "The rudeness of some people,"

I couldn't help but giggle at how she was acting.

"He is sooo not sick. What a faker," I said putting away my phone and sipping at my own drink.

"He clearly wasn't sick so what do you think he was trying to hide?" She questioned

"I really don't know. Maybe he just wants to get to know me better before meeting up,"

"Or maybe he is scared of girls," she teased causing me to half spit out my drink.
After cleaning up the mess I had just made she continued. "Hey, you still have that other match on there. People don't normally come in for another half hour so why not have a look?"
