the city's going to swallow me whole
look at it - all those colored lights,
twisted steel, the scream and cry
of frustrated trafficI'm too small for this, aren't I? too
closed-off for this great adventureshe said take me with you, please,
wont you teach me how to use the trains?
and all I could think was how this freedom
could be abusedwhen the rain speaks
or soaks through your jacket,
the businessman is irked;
adventures take it all
in stridetheres always shelter
to huddle under
if you're willing to peer
past the storm
