Of being recognized
Being acknowledged
It courses through me
Making people
Smile and
Laugh
Gives me joy
Pleasing others
Helping others
Even if they don't know
It's what I strive for
I will do anything
To see a kind smile
Spread on the face
Of someone I love
Desperately wanting
To please
Even when they don't
Know it
Reconsidering words
Overthinking pauses
Word choice
All important
Important enough
That I will hurt
To see joy
In you
