Jax didn't know what to say.
Or do.

Does she still hate me?

If she's hugging you then probably not.

Does this mean we're friends again?
I would hope so.

He would understand if she said no.

Since he was always finding some way to mess a good thing up.
Granted, he didn't really have a lot of good things in his life to mess up in the first place.

But he couldn't pass this up.

He'd been more calm in the last twelve seconds that his hands were on her body and vice verse than he had been the entire year.
Without her.
You never even had her.

"What've you been up to?"

Zara couldn't get rid of the thoughts in her head.
They popped into her head like clockwork.

Who were the flowers for?

What if he was using her again?
What ever happened with Ryan?
And his girlfriend?

You don't know if he was even using you in the first place.

And you won't know unless you ask.

But he'll think I've been obsessing over it for the past year if I bring it up.
Well, you kinda have.

And you'll bring up the whole "wiping hands" ordeal.

Why can't you just let that go?

You tell me.

And he'll think you're even more of a creep for remembering that.
Or noticing.

If she never asked the burning question and he actually knew, he would think she was weak.
And stupid.
Like everybody else did.

And he would laugh at her with Ryan and his girlfriend.

Would he care if I didn't talk to him after this?

He cried.
Those tears could've been fake.

Zara winced at her exhausting thoughts, feeling her throat close up as she was on the verge of tears and felt a pang in her chest.
She wondered if he could feel her beating heart.

He'll think you're weird.

You need to ask him soon before it doesn't make sense to anymore.

I'll ask him tonight.
Zara pulled away from Jax and he began to tense up.

"Do you still have my number?"
