Lakota's POV
I look down at the limp body. The boy looks to be in his 20s. What was a human doing out here?
"Why is a human boy here?" asked I asked
I heard leaves crumple behind me and I looked back to see that it was Xander.
"Does anyone else smell strawberries?" he asked
"No, what are you talking about, Xander," said Levi
"I just-" He cut off and looked down at the boy and looked up, "Oh my god!"
"What, Xander," I asked
"I can't believe this. It can't be. It's not possible." He looked surprised and maybe stressed.
"Dude, what's wrong?"
"I think that human is my mate."
We all looked at each other. It was never heard of. Having a human as your mate.
"How?"
"That's what I'm saying," He said
I looked down at the unconscious boy and scanned his body. That's when I saw something that made me gasp. Both Levi and Xander turned their head in my direction.
"What is it?" They both said in sync.
"He's been bitten by a vampire. Look at his neck."
They turn their attention to the neck and Levi's eyes widen.
"This is bad news. I have to report this to my father. He knows a lot about vampires." said Xander
"I'll take the boy on my back. He looks like he's about to die." I said
I walked over to his body and turned into my wolf.
"I need some help here." I looked over at them
"Right," said Levi
He raised up the body onto my back and I started to run to the pack's infirmary. Getting close to the infirmary I felt something move on back. The boys waking up. I turn my head to look at him. His eyes widen with shock. he started to squirm. Making it harder to keep him safely on my back.
About ten feet away for the infirmary, the boy had fallen off. I immediately stopped and looked down. He was paralyzed in fear.
"What are you. You can't be a wolf, your huge." He spoke
He was shaking. I quickly shifted back into my human form. Grabbed that pair of clothes behind and tree that I had left there earlier. I looked back at the boy. He looked at me mortified with fear.
"Ple-please don't hurt m-me."
"I'm not going to hurt you."
By now Xander and Levi had caught up. They shifted and grabbed a pair of shorts from behind a tree.
"What's going on?" asked Levi
"He woke up when I was running and then he fell off."
Xander went up to him. The boy scooted back.
"I'm not going to hurt you." He said in a hushed voice.
He put a hand out for the boy to grab. The boy hesitated and then grabbed onto it.
"What's going on?" asked the boy
"We would like to know too. We found you out in the woods."
"What are you guys and where am I?"
"Well, you're in Black Rose territory," said Xander
"Black Rose?"
"Yes, a territory of a pack of werewolves."
"Werewolves are myt-" he paused "I have to get out of here."
The boy started to run, but Xander was able to grab on to his arm.
"Let go! He's going to come and get me!" he yelled
"Wait! Whos going to get you?" said Xander
"A tall, slim man. He had long raven hair put into a braid. He told me he was going to show me the way out of the forest." He stopped
"Go on"
"When I was following him he suddenly stopped. I went up to him and he turned around and bit my neck. I was lucky enough to break free and run away. Then I woke up here."
I looked over at Levi. There's no way he could outrun a vampire. They are extremely fast. H must have been close to our territory when he broke free.
"How's that possible?" said Xander.
"What?" said the boy looking confused
"He must have been a vampire. We noticed the bite mark on your neck."
"Yeah and?"
"No human. Not even Bolt can outrun a vampire. The fact that you're still alive is mysterious."
"He must have been close by our territory and when the boy ran through it. The vampire probably knew it was our territory." I said
"Possible, but we need to have the area check out and the boy looked at by Amanda," said Levi
"That would be a great idea. How do you feel?" I said
"I feel sick." then the boy fainted
I went over to him but was stopped by Xander.
"I'll take him this time. You need to rest Lakota and Levi, you need to tell my father and yours about what we found out."
Levi nodded his and grabbed my hand. I looked up at him and he smiled, so much was going on. I was well needed for a nap. Slowly my eyes flutter. Then my vision went dark. I must have fallen asleep. I felt arms wrap around me. Levi must have grabbed me before I could fall to the ground.
I opened my eyes.
"You'd need to be careful."
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay," he said
He lifted me up and the last thing I saw was his smiling face before my eyes shut closed. Taken by sleep.
