Chapter 11- Let Me Go

I was on the stage, alone. I hated being without Leon. He was supposed to be here with me, just like every other time.

The music began to play.

Here I go what can I say,

It's what sends me everyday,

Into such a lovely place,

Your presence is why,

No I cannot deny,

I began to sing the chorus, and heard a voice next to me.

I looked and saw Leon.

"Leon, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here to see you."

"But, you're at the hospital. I- I don't understand."

"Don't try to, I just need to speak to you."

I was staring into his eyes. This all felt so surreal.

"Violetta, I know you want me to come back, but you need to let me go."

"No, no I can't."

"Yes, you can. Because, I don't want you to get hurt, when I......"

"No, because you won't, you have to be okay, I love you, if you leave I don't know what I will do."

"That is why you have to let me go, please you will be okay, trust me."

"But I don't want to let you go, I can't let you go."

"Please, if not for you, for me. I don't want to hurt you any more than I already have, please just let go of me, because I can't see you hurt."

"No Leon, I need you, you can't go, I can't let you go. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I can't say goodbye to you, I can't. I don't want to, because I know I can't, if I say goodbye, I'll start crying and I'll never stop. I need you Leon, and I can't let you go."

"Just try, you are strong, you lived without me before."

"But I didn't know you then, please don't leave me Leon, please don't go. I can't let you go."

"You have to, goodbye Violetta."

"No! Leon wait."

I snapped back into reality as I realised I was all alone in the stage again because Leon was no longer beside me.
