I wake up Friday morning two weeks after the whole ordeal with Tristan and the divorce. It still feels very surreal waking up each morning without his arms around me.

Sometimes I almost can't even gather the strength to get up and go to my classes but I want to finish school and get my degree and decided what to do from there.

After a few minutes of just laying there on the bed my cellphone rings from the night stand I answer it without checking the caller ID, so I'm surprised when I hear my mothers voice on the other end of the line.

"Evelyn, it's your mother." I heart her now stoic voice, remembering how it used to be so warm when speaking with me.

"Mom? Why are you calling? I thought you didn't want to talk to me."

Ever since that dreadful day both my mother and father had been avoiding all of my calls. Letting me know exactly who's side they are on.

"Is it true? Are you really pregnant?" she asks getting right to the point and avoiding my questions.

"Yes I am." I answer hesitantly afraid of her reaction.

She stays quiet for a long moment until finally saying something. "I would like to speak to you in person."

No congratulations. No how have you been feeling. No nothing, just the stoic voice that is so foreign to me coming from her.

This isn't the mother I know and love, this is someone else.

After a moment I respond, "Sure, when?". I'm still hopeful that maybe if she can really see me then she can see just how honest I really am.

"How about at the little cafe on fourth street, in a hour?"

"Alright I'll be there."

"Okay" she responds and hangs up hastily.

I stay unmoving for a few minutes just wondering what she will want to talk about, because by now I can see that it isn't going to be about asking how I've been.

She hasn't cared for about two weeks how I've been.

After staying in bed a little longer I look at the clock and see that it's barely seven thirty and knowing that my mom is an early riser it doesn't surprise me that she called me this early.

Deciding its time to get out of bed I go to the restroom and do my morning routine before I head out to the kitchen where I see Emily standing at the breakfast bar going over some papers with a cup of coffee by her side.

"Good morning." I greet her as I enter the kitchen going to get a glass to drink some water.

"Mornin' How are yo- Wait are you feeling okay?", she asks as soon as she looks up from her papers and probably notices the expression on my faced after the call with my mother.

Ever since she found out about what happened after signing the divorce papers she's been adamant about me staying with her.

I was planning on just staying about a day or two, but after what happened her and her dad would not let me leave. Saying they wouldn't be able to live with themselves if something were to happen to me and nobody was around to help me. They wouldn't let me argue, and honestly I really don't mind the company, I hate being alone.

"I'm feeling fine, my mom just called about fifteen minutes ago. She wants to meet up this morning and talk." I answer her taking a drink of water.

"What does she want?", she asks in a clipped tone.

After I told her about what happened with my parents, lets just say she isn't a very big fan of them anymore.

"I don't know. She just asked me if I was really pregnant, and then when I said yes she just asked to meet with me."
