"No way." I said doubling over in laughter. In front of me, Noel did the same, tightly clutching his stomach.

We were sitting around one of the tables facing each other. Noel was telling me a story of how naughty him and Dean used to be when they were young.

"His father was so angry, he grounded him for one month." He laughed again, wiping away stray tears that had escaped his hazel eyes.

"What happened to you?"

He looked up at me, his eyes glinting with happiness as he recalled his childhood memories. " Father forgave me."

"No way!" He had to be lying. His father must have punished him, who wouldn't after finding out that your kid had taken everything from the refrigerator and thrown it into the trash bin.

Puffing out his chest he said," Of course he forgave me, I'm his only child after all."

I squirted my eyes at him, something that I usually did when I thought someone was lying to me. And of course, he caved in. "Okay, okay, I was grounded for two months."

I doubled over in laughter again, laying my head on the table so that no one could see how hard I was laughing. It had been so long since I laughed as hard as today.

I was happy.

Raising my head from the table, I found Noel looking at me with a strange look on his face. I squirmed, suddenly feeling awkward. I was not used to someone looking at me like that.

I thought of asking him another question but stopped when I saw someone looking at us from one of the corners of the hall. Dean.

He stood there, his hands in his pockets with a weird expression on his face. I could not point out his specific facial expressions since he was a bit far away from where we were but I knew he was not happy at all. And here I was, his personal assistant laughing so loudly with his best friend, when her boss was probably going through some crisis.

I stood up and Noel stood up too. We walked to where he was, both of us silent. When we reached him, he said , " We are leaving."

So soon?

"What about the bid?" I inquired, wasn't that the main reason we were here.

"I'll have someone take care of it." He answered and started walking to the exit which was almost empty. Many people had already left the event. I don't why he told me it was a business part, where else it was just an event.

"Why were you flirting with my friend?"

What?

I shook my head. We were only talking and laughing. "I wasn't sir."

"What is it you?" Noel asked behind us. "It's not like the two of you are together."

I caught Dean's eyes and my breath hitched. His blue eyes which were the colour of the ocean had turned a shade darker and were looking at me as if they could see straight into my soul.

"Or are you?"

"What?" I asked, obviously not having heard what Noel was talking about.

"Keep those thoughts out of your mind Noel." Dean said angrily, looking away from me.

"If you say so." Noel sang. "But just to remind you guys, it's against the company's rules."

"Nothing like that will ever happen." Dean's cold voice replied as he headed towards his car.

He opened his door and got in. "Are you coming or what?"

"Um,I'll hitch a ride with Noel." I was not going to have myself inside such a small car with him,not after what just happened seconds ago.

"Suit yourself." He shouted, banged his door close and drove off.

I stared as his car disappeared into a corner and turned around to face Noel who was looking at me with his eyebrows knitted together.

"Who said I'm going to drive you?"

"You don't have to." I hurriedly said, embarrassed. I had only met the guy thrice and here I was, saying he would drive me home.

He might have noticed my discomfort because he chuckled and asked me to board his black sports car which looked exactly like Dean's.

They even had matching cars, talk about friendship goals.

"Don't mind him." He said as soon I was settled down and started driving after I gave him my address.

I turned to look at him. "Who? Dean?"

"Yeah."

"I wish I could understand why his mood changes the way they do?" Though, I had only talked to Noel for like ten minutes, there was something about him that made it easy to talk to him.

He glanced at me then at then back at the road. "Are you a spy or something?"

I laughed. "You wish. If I was,I would probably know everything about him."

He chuckled. "Dean is good as long as you understand him, its just that his life has been a-" He tightly gripped the steering wheel as if to stop himself from saying whatever wanted to say.

The rest of the ride was spent in silence and it doesn't take long to reach my home.

But all I could think about was,was there something about Dean's life that I did not know? That the media and his enterprise knew nothing about?

"Thanks for the ride." I appreciated once we parked outside my building.

"Welcome. We will talk later?" His brow rose waiting for my answer.

"Yeah, why not?" I replied and with that I stepped out of the car.
