Happy New Year and thank you so much for the 322 views.

"I'll let him know."

"Don't forget." She continued nagging.

I sighed, I was not a forgetful person."Joan,I won't forget."

She chuckled, wrinkles appearing at the edges of her eyes. "I'm just messing with you Stephanie. Take care."

A happy smile played on my lips when I saw the loving look in her eyes. We may not have known each other for a very long time or usually spoke to each other, but there was something about her that was always calming.

"I will." I replied as I watched her head towards the staircase which were usually left unused by anyone.

When the elevators opened I looked up and saw Dean step out. He was wearing his usual tight black suit and his black hair was combed backwards just like any other day.

He didn't look my way or greet me like he has been doing lately, he just went straight to his office and closed the door with a slight bang.

I tried to think of what may have made him act like that but no thoughts crossed my mind. Was it because of what happened during the bid event? But he had told me that he already had someone to sort out the issue.

"Stephanie." He called for me from inside his office.

"Yes sir." I answered once I opened the door and stepped into the room.

"Get me coffee." He said, his head bent downwards to an empty desk.

My forehead creased. "But I already brought you coffee sir."

"Get me another coffee and do it fast!" He commanded, his loud voice echoing in his office, enunciating each and every word that he had spoken and I flew out of the office, afraid of what would happen if he lost his temper. He seemed to be in one of his sour moods today.

The kitchen was vacant since everyone else had probably taken their beverage thus making it easier and faster for me to prepare his coffee just the way he liked it. I was on my way back when I saw Marco carrying a file.

"Marco." I called and he stopped when he saw me "Morning."

"Morning too Steph. Why do you have a cup of coffee at this time?" He asked, checking his wrist watch.

"The CEO's." I answered and I saw him stiffen, the smile that had been on his face replaced by a serious look.

"Bye." He blurted out and rushed past me. Just like that.

I stared at him as he disappeared into one of the offices, not understanding why he behaved as such. I knew that the McConnell's enterprise workers feared Dean but why did Marco have to rush past me like that once I mentioned the CEO name? Was there something I didn't know?

I had only spoken to Marco only a couple of times, but I could tell that he was a good guy from the way he always conducted himself. So,why act the way he did like the first time I saw him in the typing room?

I hastily opened the door when I remembered the mood he was in. I made the mistake of banging the door too loud because he jumped up from his seat and when he saw me he sat back down.

"Don't ever do that again." He reprimanded, casting me an annoyed look. Okay, I knew he was temperamental but I didn't know he was jumpy too.

"Sorry sir." I apologised, placing the coffee on his table and walked out.

Three minutes later I was called back into his office."Stephanie!"More loudly this time.

I placed my sweaty palm on the cold door knob twisting it open. The moment I stepped in, a feeling of déjà vu went through my body and my heart started thudding so loud I could hear it in my ears. I saw him sitting on the couch and the moment he saw me, he stood up so fast and strode towards me in long steps, determination gleaming in his oceanic blue eyes. But determination for what?

It didn't take long to know what he was determined to do, because the moment he reached where I was standing,he grabbed my wrist so hard and pulled me hard against his chest.

"How could you do this to me?" He loudly asked, his cold voice vibrating in the four roomed office.

"Answer me!" He barked. His hand painfully twisted my wrist and I yelped when the pain went straight to my brain.

"Si-sir," I stammered, tears beaming in my eyes.

"It was so important and I lost it all because of you!"  His nostrils dilated and he roughly pushed me away from him. I lost my balance but I was quick to grab one of the chairs to steady myself.

What is happening? My mind screamed. I was in the same scenario as I was weeks ago. In the same office, the two of us in this office and him accusing me of things I could not understand.

"It's all because of you!" The hand that had been resting on the armrest was roughly pulled back and the next thing I knew was my body pressed on the wall.

"Please." I pleaded for what I did not know.

"Please? Please?" He repeated intimidatingly."Why should I forgive you for the misfortunes you have brought upon me?" He painfully grabbed my chin, his figures digging deep into my skin.

"No,no sir. I didn't. I swear I didn't." I repeatedly said my voice begging as tears cascaded down my cheeks.

"Stop being a hypocrite!" He shouted and walked away from me, going to stand besides his desk.

I slumped on the wall, my weak body begging me to drop down against it.  I brought my shaky hands to my face, wiping away tears.

"He said no. A freaking no to me!" He shouted again, his hands flying to the files lying on his table. With one swipe, he threw them down, scattering them all around the office. "No! No! No!"

I placed my right hand on my mouth, preventing the scary scream that was ready to escape my throat. My legs shook faster, my knees buckling and I pushed myself on the wall, afraid of falling down. My brain screamed at me to get out of this room, to run as far away as possible but my body was weak.

Suddenly, he turned around and when I saw the look on his face, the hand on my mouth became limp and my heart stopped. I had seen him angry before, but not like this.

His face was red from anger and fury, rigid cords evident on his neck and forehead. His bulging blue eyes were cold with hatred, lips curled up and nostrils dilated.

"It was your job, why couldn't you do it right?" He muttered to himself. "Why?"

I wanted to apologise again but he beat me to it when he grabbed me again.

"I don't want to ever see you again. Get out!"
