Patton's hands trembled as he read the multiple messages from an unknown number. He had never seen the number in his life. Heck, he barely recognized the area code!
Multiple messages of threats and hate speech all got to the small mans head.
Who was this person?
And how did they get his number?
He swiped left and went to his friend Virgil's contact, texting him. Out of all people he'd know what to do.
Virgil was always there for him after all.
Pat pat: Virgieeeee
Emo nightmare: yes pat?
Pat pat: do you happen to know any hotline numbers? I need it for a friend
That was a lie.
Emo nightmare: uh ya, but are you sure it's for a friend?
Pat pat: of course I am kiddo! 🐱🐱
Emo nightmare: I'm not gonna ask why the cat emojis

Patton put the number in his phone and started typing a text but then he thought.
What if they don't do texts?
Would he have to say everything on the phone?
He didn't want to do that.
The small man just said heck it and sent the text.
Pat pat: hello? My friend told me to text this number cause I was having suicidal thoughts and I don't know if I got it right dear god I hope I did I don't even know if you guys do texts Ah frick
Patton put his phone down and tried to calm himself, wiping the tears out of his eyes. He didn't get a text back for a few minutes.
Idiot, he should've known they don't take text messages!
Unknown: Greetings, you seem to have gotten the wrong number. But now I am concerned. Even thought I do not know you.
Oh frick.
Pat pat: oh frick! I'm so sorry for bothering you please don't worry about me I'm fine everything's fine!
Patton panicked and deleted his first message.
Unknown: Even though I know everything is fine I still want to talk to you.
Pat pat: ok I guess
Unknown: I am Logan.
Pat pat: I'm Patton!!
Unknown: Very nice to meet you patton.
Pat pat: nice to meet you too Logie!
Unknown: Logie?
How's that for a rewrite? The rewrite of this book will probably have more chapters and stuff added to it than the original but oh whale!
