Chapter 10
Melissa mother rented out a building for Melissa's baby shower. Everyone was dress in white. There was mainly relatives of Melissa's and Eric . The remainder of people were close friends and a couple of classmates from Melrose High School.
"¿Por qué no contesta el teléfono?" Melissa said in her thick Hispanic accent
"Melissa calm down. I'm sure he is on his way." Amanda place her palm on her shoulder
"I know. I just want him to call me back. He knows he has to be here to take pictures, I need him here." She exclaim waving her arms
"Look, your stressing me out. Relax girl your going to send yourself into premature labor." Amanda reassured Melissa
"Ohh okay." Melissa whined placing her head on Amanda's shoulder
"Your ready for motherhood?" She nudge her friend's arm
"I think I'm ready but I find myself crying. I don't want to let my baby down." She answered while rubbing her belly
"Melissa, you won't. Your child is going to love you and you are going to be a great mother." Amanda added
"I'm glad to have you as a friend." She pulled Amanda into a tight hug
"I know.You would be hopeless without me." Amanda lips curved into a smile
"Very funny. You still talk to Levi?" Melissa raised her eyebrow
"Yes we talk." Amanda said with a grin plastered on her face
"Any plans yet?" Melissa mirrored her expression
"He planned a date next Saturday." She answered
"Thats great Amanda!!" Melissa said in excitement
"Yeah but I'm in a fix." She twisted her lips
"Why I thought everything is cool with you and Levi? Are you having second thoughts?" Melissa furrowed her eyebrows
"It is but Kevin text me this last night." She pulled out her phone
"Well its obvious that he likes you." Melissa re-read the message Kevin sent. "I don't know what to say."
"I'm so confused." Amanda ran her fingers through her curls
"If you can't choose either one just drop them both. This can turn out very bad and someone can get hurt." Melissa asserted her
"Yeah, your right." Amanda agreed with Melissa
The shower proceeded with varies of gifts, more guest, and friendly games. While everyone was having a good time, it wasn't the same for Melissa. She pace back and forth worried about Eric.
"¿Qué te molesta?" Melissa's mother said full of concern
"Mamá Eric no está aquí. estoy preocupado por el ¿donde esta el?"
