The boy sat quietly in the classroom, reading his textbook and making notes, meticulously neat and clear, as always.

He occasionally glanced at his partner, the new boy, who was working quietly beside him, dark brown hair flopping forwards into his eyes. Vin pushed the hair back with an impatient sign ever so often.

The boy wondered why Vin didn't get a haircut.

As he wrote, the boy jotted where and how his research could tie into his partners' topic of religion, and give their coursework more substance.

Glancing down at his partners work, the boy saw Vin had done the same; that surprised him. He thought the new boy looked like a bit of a slacker, who would leave him to do most of the work himself but still take half the credit.

When the bell rang for the end of the lesson, Vin packed up his books and waited for the boy to do the same.

"Do you want to meet up sometime before tomorrow?" He asked the boy. "To write up our plan?"

The boy nodded slowly.

"Is lunchtime okay? Or is after school better?"

"Lunchtime." The boy murmured. "Library."
