Chapter 10: When we were 10

While driving back, Olivia was just staring out the window thinking about her conversation she just had with her friends "You and the new girl seems close" said Andrei

"Oh yeah, didn't she ask you to go on a date with her" said Stephanie

"She's a lesbo?" asked Kyle

"Oh my gosh friend, even lesbians are attracted to you" said Stephanie

Meanwhile, Julian noticed that Oliva has been quiet the whole time. She wanted to ask her why but, she doesn't know if the other girl wants to share. But she balled up all her courage and asked "Hey, you seem quiet. Are you ok?"

Olivia turned to her and gave her a reassuring smile "Yeah, I'm fine" she replied

Julian was still unconvinced, but she dropped it "So, 9 out of 10, yeah?"

Olivia's eyes twinkled remembering her grade "all thanks to you"

"I thought your boyfriend taught you"

'Oh, so she heard that' "To be honest he sucks at teaching. I didn't understand a word he said. He's like do this, then multiply it with this. Like what?"

Julian laughed

"How about you what did you get?"

"A 10" Julian replied

"Show off" said Olivia "I forgot you're a genius when it comes to maths" she said sarcastically

"Like I said before, I do actually listen to the teacher"

"Haha, funny"

When they got back home, Julian was about to go upstairs when she heard Olivia say "Thank you, by the way" making her turn

"No biggy" she replied and went up

When Julian got down after cleaning off she noticed Olivia in the kitchen still wearing the clothes she wore for the day "Oh finally, I'm making dinner for us" the girl said

Julian still isn't used to this type of Olivia, so she sat in the island table and observed the other girl cook. From her raw eggs before, she can now cook proper edible food with the help of Julian of course.

"Just give me sec"

"You're really taking on the wife role, huh?" teased Julian

"Don't push it" Oliva replied without looking at her

"What? Just saying. It's really weird seeing you like this"

"Why do you want me to go back to that, bratty, spoiled Olivia?" she threatened

"No thanks" Julian replied.

After eating, they went to the library to start on the paper works that they need to finish for the week. Olivia was doing her homework while Julian was trying to explain things to her.

It took Julian a couple of hours to teach Olivia about the basics about their company. "So, we're like a design and build company?" asked Olivia

"Well, that's one of the things our company does. We're also a real estate company" said the other

"Oh, I get it"

Julian looked at her watch and saw the time "Why don't we take a break?"

So, they went downstairs and ordered some take out. "So, why did you and your family move away when we were 10?" asked Olivia making Julian choke on her food.

"Thank" she said when Olivia offered her a drink. The other girl waited for her reply "Well, ehem. The business was still starting back then, and my dad thought it'd be a great opportunity to take it abroad and attract costumers there"

Olivia tilted her head down "You know I was so pissed at you before for leaving me"

"I know, your dad told me"

"You were by best friend. You're like the closest person to me back then and you just left me... And now you came back, and I found out we're engaged. Do you know how fucked up that is?"

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't want to leave you before. You don't know how much I begged them to come back. And as for the engagement... I kinda knew about that" Julian confessed

Olivia looked at her questioningly "How?"

"While we were in Germany. I heard my dad on the phone with I'm guessing your dad. And I heard them talking about the engagement. I heard that they planned it ever since we were born. When they found out they both had girls, they still got on with it"

Olivia rested back on the sofa "That was why they wanted us to get along that much when we were kids" she said and turned to Julian "But I'm glad it was you and not someone else"

Now it's Julian's turn to give her a questioning look "W-why?"

"Because you're... I don't know. You're everyone's ideal partner. You're smart, you're hardworking, you're hot" said Olivia and bit her tongue on the last part

Julian grinned "You think I'm hot?"

"From all the things I said that's the only thing you picked up"

"Answer my question. Do you think I'm hot?"

Olivia felt her cheeks burning so she hid under a pillow

Julian grabbed the pillow "Come on" she challenged but Olivia ran up to her room and Julian ran after her. When she reached her room, she closed it before Julian could get to her "Come on, just answer my question"

"No!" Olivia shouted

"Not fair"
