( quinn p.o.v )

I GRINNED TO myself as i, jerome and the others waited within an old car we had driven the gcpd station, us all waiting in the car patiently for further instructions. jerome beside me was dressed in a full policeman uniform, i in all black like how id look before. the rest were dressed normally, nothing over the top for them. leaning my forehead against the window as i peered outside, mind drifting and i stared at nothing in particular. the sound of the radio going off in loud crackles and mumbled words. if caught all of our attention, all looking directly at it as jerome picked it up. a few words were passed back and forth through the radio wallow talkie before it went silent. jerome made eye contact with everyone before yelling "let's go get them boys!" him grinning with excitement as he fixed his police hat. as we saw barbara walking around the corner, we all slightly ducked at the sight of him, following behind her frantically. with that, jerome was already out of the instructing me to follow him. i proceeded out of the car and was now following him to the door of the gcpd. he was easily not detected due to his uniform, no one gave us a second look. i slid a pair of sunglasses on up my nose bridge to hide my eyes then pulling the tie up belt tighter around my waist. jerome pushes the front doors open, the pair of us walking inside, me trailing just behind him. i gazed around at the place, everything seeming so welcoming and comfortable, i almost felt bad for what was about to happen. i looked around at all the faces i knew that proceeded to ignore us two as we strolled through like wind, silent and invisible. jerome cleared his throat as we continued walking, preparing to speak. "i need to talk to commissioner essen right away. it's an emergency" jerome spoke to a random man of the phone as we passed, his voice deeper than usual, almost unrecognisable. i looked at the back of his head as he spoke, making his way up a small staircase, passing many more workers. "yeh, just right up stairs" the man sitting at the desk spoke bringing the phone down from his ear as he spoke, his sentence drifting off when he realised jerome wasn't paying attention to him anymore. i saw a few more of our men creep in, the ones wearing a similar costume to jerome's. they placed briefcases down on the floor quietly then walking off. i watched as jerome continued his way to the commissioner's office, knocking and walking inside. i huffed in and out, hands in pockets as i waited for action. i stood against a wall, blending in amongst the crowds of different people walking back and forth. a smoke bomb goes off in the middle of gcpd. a half sided smile arose to my face as people began to panic. gunfire broke out across the station. bullets flying in every which way but jerome was still out of sight. people began flying backwards at the impact of bullets, policemen started shootings back. smoke and flires of guns mixed up in a sea of human bodies running back and forth.

the lunatics and i began to walk around, most of gcpd was now on the floor. i untied the knot holding my jacket in place and throw it to the floor, reviling my skin tight outfit and boots i had decided to wear for the occasion. i looked up at the mini balcony that was placed inside, it overlooking the rest the gcpd office. that is where jerome stood, the commissioner tied to chair facing him and away from the chaos behind her. i couldn't hear what jerome was saying to her, but he began to speak to her as he threw off his hat, doing the same with his jacket. he spun around to short man with crazy and scruffy hair, his name i could never seem to remember. i moved closer. "here, bring that up here" jerome spoke to him with his usual playful tone. "get a better angle of the room" he continued, turning to face the rest of the room, arms out slightly. as he was looking ahead his eyes landed on me. a genuine smile came to his face as he saw me. dropping his arms, he tilted his head slightly at me, smile still present on his face. "why are you doing this?" the commissioner spoke, jerome turning his attention away from me and to her. "to rule the world" his answer short and quick, mostly speaking the truth, some part of that kinda a lie. "blah blah blah. but we'll settle for some dead cops and some good pr." jerome spoke again, hands dropping to in front of him, placing them together nicely as he grinned his infamous smile at her, scruffy behind him starting to film. his smile dropped. "kidding" he raised his eyebrows then dropped them again, an unimpressed look on his face. "yeh, whatever, i get it, you're just crazy" the commissioner fired back at him, annoyance was clear in her serious tone. jerome tilted his head at her, standing up straight, his face still looking mad and serious. i just stood in the same position as i watched everything unfold, forgetting that this was being filmed. my arms crossed over my chest as i put all my weight onto one leg, the other sticking out in a point as i looked up at jerome. "crazy?" he repeated her. he moved closer to her, lowering himself to her height, looking her in the face. i giggled at the sight. jerome's eyes moving from hers to mine for a brief second, then dropping back down to hers. at this i turned around to face the other direction. walking around slowly, taking in everything, my arms still crossed over my chest. i glanced around the place, eyes bouncing off everything and landing on another in complete boredom. i huffed out of my nose. jerome's voice picked up a little, echoing around the empty building as he threatened the commissioner, this caught my attention as i turned around to watch once again. his face was close to hers whispering something to her, his attention was caught by scruffy man. jerome picked up his gun and fired it at him, he fell to the floor with a grunt, the camera dropping with him. jerome's head shot back to the commissioner, whispering something again. his loud broken up laugh rang out, me quietly laughing along at his laugh as i watched him. but, was suddenly cut short. the commissioner smashed her head against jerome's as he grunted and cried out. unfolding my arms, i charged ahead in a fast walk down the middle of the gcpd, arms swinging by my sides. "that's gonna leave a mark" she said in a mocking tone. jerome began to laugh maniacally as blood started to pour from his nose. "you got me" he spoke in a darker tone. "my turn" he whispered as he approached her and continued to laugh like a psycho at her. grabbing his gun he shot two bullets into her stomach. after the loud ringing of the gun he laughed in her face. jerome grabbed his hat off the floor, along with his jacket as he walked away from the dying commissioner he had just shot. he also grabbed the camera that was still recording off the floor, speaking into it as i stood in the back, the commissioner behind him. "hello, gotham city!" he greeted cheerfully. "we're the maniax" he continued to introduce us. "and i'm jerome, the shot-caller of our little gang. we're here to spread the message of wisdom and hope" he chuckled out as a joke. a man beside him started to groan, jerome turned and shot him on camera, the proceeded to talk. "some people have no manners" he joked about. placing his gun away he brought the camera right up to his face. "you're all prisoners. what you call sanity is just a prison in your minds that stops you from seeing that you're just tiny, little cogs in a giant absurd machine." he spoke nicely before yelling at the camera. "wake up! why be a cog? be free like us!" he said, turning the camera to me and a few others standing behind jerome on the floor as he stood up higher. he began to laugh maniacally at the camera. panning the camera away from us he dropped it down to the floor, still laughing. "smile" he said and he played with a dead cop's lips. approaching sirens began to wail in the distance catching all of our attention. "oh, time to go!" jerome yelled at the camera and us. "but don't worry, we'll be back very soon" jerome said as he adjusted his hat, placing the camera down. "hang on to your hats folks, cause you ain't seen nothing yet!" he spoke dramatically, followed by more maniac laughter. turning the camera off, he tuned to face us completely calm. "let's go" he said pointing to door. he jumped off the railing of the platform, landing on his feet perfectly as he approached me. he flung one of his arms over me, as he moved me to the doors, along with the rest of the surviving lunatic gang. "i'm glad you didn't get hurt" he spoke quietly in my ear, his body close to mine. he lightly giggled. "yeh, me too" i said facing forward. his arm was still hanging over my shoulders as we walked out of the building that other cops were now filling, searching for us. he removed his arm as we approached our car. jerome was buzzing with excitement from what happened, the others mirroring the same energy. i, on the other hand was pretty chill even tho i did enjoy today. watching jerome do his thing always put me in a better mood. jerome drove off maniacally, heading back to our head quarters as the rising night sky began to paint bright colours of oranges and pinks across the sky, completely a wonderful day.
