Soooo I'm a little late on the update this week, but I have a good reason. I wanted to hold back and update the story today with not one, but TWO whole chapters to celebrate the Steam release of Nusantara: Legend of the Winged Ones! Yes, darlings, the game is officially out on Steam now so go have fun with it. Give Chiel lots of love, she worked incredibly hard to bring that story to life and then Steam gave her a lot of headaches until she managed to release the game there.

But I'll stop ranting, for now. Go have fun with the game and then come back to read the two chapters I've uploaded for you darlings, in celebration of this awesome day! Cheers~ ( ˘ ³˘)❤

"I can't..."

Even she had barely heard her own whisper, but Reksa still narrowed his eyes and growled deep in his throat.

"Woman, you wanted this! You belong to me!"

It was weird, but as she watched him glaring at her while his arms held her in an iron grip, Aleera finally understood something... something she hadn't recalled in years, ever since her parents' deaths. Something her mother had said after a long day of working in the park, back when she was a little child, while her parents were sitting on the porch holding hands and looking happier than anyone else she had ever seen.

oO Flashback Oo

She had heard noises on the front porch of the cabin and, curious as any child, had gone out to find her parents sitting there, surrounded by fireflies, watching the nearby forest and the tall sky full of twinkling stars. For a while she had simply watched them in silence, hugging her stuffed bear, smiling at how happy and peaceful they looked together.

"Mommy?" she eventually called out, hesitant to interrupt the magical moment that looked straight out of the fairytales she so loved.

"You're still awake, sweetie?" her mother smiled warmly, gesturing for her to join them. "Come here... what's wrong?"

"How come you're so happy with Daddy? None of the visitors here look so happy, like you do when you hold Daddy's hand."

The smile on her mother's face softened at her innocent curiosity, and she exchanged a knowing glance with her husband before placing Aleera on her lap while the male scooted closer and wrapped both of them in his arms.

"Well, darling... that's because Daddy was the right man for me. And Fate decided that we should be together, because we had a purpose."

"Was your purpose to take care of all the Dragons on the island?"

"No, honey..." the woman giggled, stroking her fiery locks and kissing her forehead. "Our purpose was to bless this world with the greatest little miracle that ever existed... you."

For a while she was silent, resting in her mother's embrace and watching the starry sky, until a question popped in her head.

"Mommy... am I ever going to find the right man for me?"

"Of course you will. For every little girl that Heaven sends into this world, there's a little boy sent to take care of her when they grow up."

"Is there a little boy for me too?"

"Yes, there is. And one day you're going to meet him, and you'll be very happy together."

"Just like you and Daddy?"

"Yes, love... just like me and Daddy."

"But how will I know it's him, when I meet him?"
