Alright, darlings... this is the second-to-last chapter of our little adventure! I'll save my "end of the road" rant for then, however, and just let you lovelies enjoy the wedding night with Reksa and Aleera. Hope you're all looking forward to the conclusion of their story next week and do toss me a little comment to let me know if you had fun so far. I'd love to know~ ( ˘ ³˘)❤

P.S. I am so grateful to Rinmaru, whose astounding art allowed me to envision my OC as I imagined her. All credit for the artwork goes to her!

~ Four hours later ~

The emerald tones of Banara Forest were now bathed in silver raining from a large full moon, enthroned on a pristine starry sky. Along with the sun most of the forest's inhabitants had retreated for sleep, only the occasional hoot of an owl breaking the peaceful silence. And yet somewhere near the great lake of Hakuna Falls, a lone figure was snaking between the trees followed closely by an agile shadow. They had long since left the autumnal hues of the Dead Forest behind, and Reksa was by now as impressed as he was annoyed. His young wife had delivered on her promise to let him enjoy chasing her down... probably a bit too well for a human.

Many a time he had caught up to her and either pinned her against a tree, or tackled her where the grass was lush enough that he was confident he wouldn't hurt her. And each time, no matter how obvious the desire in her eyes was, she refused to submit to him – each time she somehow managed to slip out of his grasp and again put distance between them.

But she was finally getting tired, he could tell in the way her pace had slowed considerably. That, or she was at last fed up with the taunting nuzzles, caresses and kisses he had tormented her with every single time that he had gotten his hands on her. Truth be told, he too was nearing the limit of his patience and yet he was grateful to her for not only indulging him, but offering him one of the most thrilling hunts of his life.

At last she left the cover of the trees apparently intent on crossing the clearing and reaching the cave behind the waterfall. Perching upon a branch at the very edge of the clearing, the young Komodo took a moment to measure the distance and then leapt to – yet again – tackle his bride into the thick grass.

"Yield already, woman!" he growled, clearly at his limit.

For a moment she didn't respond, only laying on her stomach beneath him and heaving for breath. At first he tensed, expecting her to suddenly worm her way out of his grasp once more until he heard her breathy whisper.

"Alright..." she nodded, looking at him as he loomed over her. "I'm done..."

For a long minute he didn't smile or speak, making her worry that she had pushed her luck too long and angered him. But ultimately Reksa did lean down to kiss the bare skin between her shoulder blades, his lips slowly making their way towards the crook of her neck. Even when she clenched her teeth to muffle a painful moan as he sank his fangs into her tender flesh, she couldn't help pressing her cheek into his hair like a cat enjoying its master's affections.

She was so lost in the softness of his strands that she didn't even register when he instead slid his warm tongue over the sensitive mark, until her body shuddered in pleasure.

"Thank you..." he purred, angling his head so that he could pull her earlobe between his teeth and gingerly nibble on it. "You surpassed even my wildest expectations. If you'll let me, I want to do this again in the future."

His tone left no room for her to doubt that he was completely satisfied and though she again quivered at the spark his teeth and hot breath ignited, she simply had to nod in response. When she shifted, she felt him tense again and his arms tightening around her.
