Ch.11 Surprises

"I'll be right there!" my mom hung up and I went to stand by my sister

She looked better over the past week. Most of her bruises are close to faded and she doesn't need to be connected to any more machines. Her left foot was still broken though and there still some nasty scars but at least she was healing

He eyes slowly fluttered open and she looked around

"What happened?" she croaked. Her voice was extremely raspy because of not speaking for so long and in the accident she hurt her windpipes

"You got in a car crash and you've been in the hospital ever since" I wanted to hug her but I don't know if I'd hurt her if I tried

"Ever since? How long have I been here!?"

"Just a week"

"A week?! Is Nick okay?"

"He's fine. He left the car with only a few cuts and scratches"

"That's good. At least one of us made it safe"

"Never do something like this again! I thought I lost you forever!"

"Calm down JJ. I'm not going anywhere. I'll always be here for you if you need me"

"Mom is going to be here any minute. Just brave yourself for boat loads of tears and scolding"

"I volunteer as tribute"

"Now is not the time for Hunger Games quotes"

"Speaking of Hunger Games I'm starving. Fetch me something to eat"

"Do I look like a slave to you?"

"I'm injured and can't get up. Please get me food" She gave me her famous puppy dog eyes that she used to get whatever she wanted from me

"You're lucky you're hurt" I said grumbling on my way to the hospital cafeteria

"Thanks bro" she called out from in the room

I got her a hamburger and fries and myself a chocolate chip cookie because I felt a bit peckish

I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket to see who texted me

Dereck: How is Jasmin?

Me: She's fine. She woke up from the coma

Dereck: That's great news! I was planning 2 stop by ur house later on but ur probably going 2 be doing family stuff

Me: No. I want u here wit me. Come pick me up. I miss u

Dereck: I miss you 2 ;)

Me: See u soon :3

I put away my phone and left the cafeteria and went into Jasmine's hospital room

My mom was already there crying and holding my sister even though she was hurting her

Typical mom

I slid in unnoticed, put Jas's food on the counter beside her hospital bed and snuck back out

I should be a ninja when I grow up. Or maybe a stripper

Strippers have much more fun because they get to dance up and down a pole

I'd definitely make an amazing stripper

I stuck my head in the room to see my mom and stopped crying and settled down a bit

"Mom? Would I make a good stripper?"

"You will never become a stripper and if I catch you set foot in a strip club I will drag you out myself"

"A simple no would have worked but sheesh" My mom rolled her eyes at me not amused

"You should go back home. I need to stay here with Jasmina till her hospital forms are sorted out and the hospital can let her leave"

"Fine" Dereck was coming over here to pick me up anyway and the house will be empty and we'd be alone if you catch my drift

I went outside of the hospital and waited for Derek to come pick me up

After a 20 minutes of waiting he finally showed up

"What took you so long?" I asked impatiently and got in the car

"I was looking for something to get your sister since she just woke up from a coma"

"Oh my! You're cheating on me with my sister! How could you?" I faked being hurt and pretended to cry but he didn't know that

"I wasn't cheating on you. I wanted to impress you by doing this. Please stop crying"

"You were trying to impress me?" Why would he try to impress me? We were only friends that had a little fun when no one is around. Our relationship isn't serious

"Because I wanted to ask you to be my boyfriend"
