There were some days that, no matter how hard he tried, Nico couldn't find a reason to get out of bed. When he first opened his eyes to the sight of flurries of snow outside the window, collecting along the edges of the window and blanketing everything else, he was glad for his bed. Their bed, he thought, feeling Ash shift behind him.

Turning from his back to his side, Nico slid one arm across the blanket wrapped his arm around Ash, pulling him closer.

"What time is it?" Ash grumbled, practically burrowing into him, clinging to him and his warmth.

Nico lifted his head to see the digital clock on the bedside table behind Ash. "Mm... 10:47 AM," he whispered, laying his head back down against the pillow and kissing Ash's forehead. "Merry Christmas," he added, now that it was officially Christmas morning.

There was a mumbled string of expletives as Ash sunk further into the bed, burying his face against Nico's chest, but neither of them seemed to be in a hurry to get out of the bed. Nico's little sister and a few of Ash's friends were due to come over a bit after noon, after all.

"We should get up soon," Nico mused, closing his eyes again and settling back into the mattress, feeling one of Ash's hands against his side, under the blanket, snaking around his waist, under his shirt, up against his back. Their legs were tangled again, too. It always seemed like they required multiple points of physical contact to sleep.

"Probably," Ash agreed, sighing against his chest. There was a beat of silence, punctuated by the sounds of a honking car horn far off in the distance. "Or," he mumbled, "We stay in bed until Cybele drags us out of here herself."

"Cybele isn't the one I'm scared of," Nico laughed, his voice a little raspy with sleep. "Aren't Cherry and Veronica coming?" Ash groaned once Nico reminded him, and Nico chuckled. "That doesn't sound like a terrible plan, though."

"I come up with good plans," Ash announced, before he cut himself off with a yawn. He lifted his head up again and made a whining sound, "Come on, stay in bed with me for awhile longer." He gave Nico a kiss, then another one, to help him make his point.

"You make it difficult to say no," Nico muttered against his mouth before they kissed again, slowly, still almost half asleep.

"Then don't say no."

"Hmm," Nico sighed, content and warm and really hating the idea of ever getting out of bed. "You do come up with good plans."

"Told you so," Ash muttered, sinking back down into the bed, finding his spot nestled comfortably in his boyfriends arms. Nico let out another breath, letting himself relax. He knew they would regret falling back asleep when Cybele and Jacquelynn inevitably barged in and ganged up on them, but for now, there wasn't a force on earth that could have convinced one of them to get out of bed.
