Story: 

Lin Yixin had car accident when she was little. Her parents passed away and she got ability to see ghosts after that event. She grow up in an orphan. Her ability make other kids ostracized her. The story start when one day her apartment's ceiling leaking water. She went upstairs, knocking on the apartment door and see that the apartment was flooded with water & there's a dead body on the floor. Then she got caught by the killer. Her reaction was abnormal though. "I just told you to stand further away from me. You know, your smell is really..... Do you have a gun? If you have a gun, just shoot me from afar. Make it fast. Stop standing so close to me! Seriously, I'm begging you!" Suddenly the dead body wake up. He's not dead. He is a writer named Suyang & the killer is Shen Shaoqian, his BFF. They were role playing for Suyang's novel.

Because her apartment need repair, Shaoqian (actually the owner of the apartment) move her stuff into other bigger apartment which (she found out later) belong to Suyang. Cohabitation start! Suyang hired Yixin to be his assistant/servant too.

The male lead is Suyang the eccentric writer. He is typical gorgeous-cool-guy-with-harsh-words-but-caring-action character. There's a secret that we will find out in later chapters about why he did the things he did. Reading the interaction between Yixin & Suyang and progression of their relationship add interest on the story.

The story has 6 arcs. On each arc, Yixin help solving the case by using her ability to see the ghosts (and under Suyang's supervision because sometimes she lack of planning). First arc is serial killer. I forgot the rest. Hehe. Each story stands alone but some parts are interconnected. If you ever watch Guardian (the web drama), the story structure kinda similar.

Still going by the same translator. I've read the summary before but not interested. I read this because the translator suggestion. In the end I'm glad I read this. I like it more than I thought I'll be.

What I Like:

Lin Yixin is not perfect. She has loser mentality, at the beginning she doesn't regard her own life. When facing a possible killer she said: "I have lived 25 years without anything. Today, my meaningless life will finally come to an end. Regardless of whether I am happy or not, I'm still all alone..."

She could be impulsive, rash and not thinking her plan thoroughly but she has kind & caring heart. She avoid people because she used to be alone but she will eventually help others albeit silently. She slowly learn to open her heart to both human & ghosts. I like how the ghosts haunting her apartment actually really care about her.

What I Don't Like:

There's one arc involving Yixin old orphanage friend. I don't get the end of that arc. But since we follow Yixin point of view, when she left the scene we don't know what her friend final decision is.

I remember I thought their relation suddenly jump ahead but I can't remember why I thought that. Maybe they aren't. Judge it yourself.

It  has happy ending. But before the happy ending, there's one obstacle that both Suyang & Yixin had to face off. Maybe it's necessary for Yixin's growth as a person. I don't like it. I don't think it's needed but maybe it is. What do you think?
