Story:

She was rescued by Mozun, the head of Moyu and adopted as his daughter. There, she learned martial arts, poison and medicine. She stayed there for five years. When Longze Jing Tian returned victorious after a battle, her father called her back to the capital, because of the arranged marriage with Longze Jing Tian. Both she and Longze Jing Tian wanted to break the engagement. After a misunderstanding created by her on purpose, Longze Jing Tian broke off the engagement. When she was free, the emperor made her a princess and wanted her to marry the demon wang. Originally, the bride was his most favorite daughter, but it was rumored that the demon wang is vicious and his eight other brides died on the wedding night. So he made the useless Murong Qi Qi the sacrifice instead and Murong Qi Qi's father agreed. The demon wang turned out to not be as rumored and they fell in love with each other.

Murong Qi Qi/ Du Xian Er/ Yi Lian: third daughter of the prime minister of Xi Qi. She was being used as a sacrifice for the peace of two countries and sent to marry the Nan Ling wang/ Demon Wang/ Feng Cang. She is the head of Moyu, a dark sect famous for killing people with poisons. As Murong Qi Qi, she is always wearing the Water Moon Mirror to seal her real appearance. People consider her ordinary or even ugly and didn't match with the number one handsome man Nan Ling wang.

I copy the summary from the site because I think it's enough. As a warning the theme of this novel is forbidden incestuous love. No real incest happen but it's always there. 

My imagination of Feng Cang The Demon King is one of character from one of my favorite novel by Jennifer Fallon - Lion of Senet, The King Antonov.

What I Like:

The author often use Chinese proverb, and the translator give explanation for it. I love reading those.

I like when QQ do fight. I can imagine her fighting movement looks beautiful. 

The use of gu is fascinating. If I'm not mistaken it's common tools in wuxia novels (?). It's my first time reading it.

I like side characters: QQ's maids, The Prince who is Feng Cang's bestfriend, Empress Dowager.

It seems like there aren't many things I like but I can say I do like the story when I was reading it. It didn't make me regret ever reading one.

What I Don't Like:

Both of main character is too OP. Both Qi Qi and Feng Cang seems to have no weakness. They have everything in the world. They have "super power". both of them has hidden identity. 

Other side characters are similar. They fall in love with one of the couple and CAN NOT LET GO to the point it's kinda pathetic.

I still don't get who is Yi Lian. She was an assassin in modern time for me just adding more to her OPness.

The last person the author killed in the story. I HATE IT THAT PERSON HAS TO DIE just to find a reason to punish one of the enemy and make somebody be the king. I feel like that person die just for that reason.

I realize this story is kinda similar with the previous one I read Transmigrator Meet Reincarnator. Qi Qi is more or less like Chu Lian. Especially at the part of growing business with modern time knowledge. But I like Chu Lian more because Qi Qi is capable of being cruel. There are several point when I'm reading, I feel like she's too cruel.
