I want to freak in the morning
A freak in the evening just like me
I need a roughneck brother
That can satisfy me just for me
If you are that kind of man
'Cause I'm that kind of girl
I got a freaky secret, everybody sing
'Cause we don't give a damn about a thing

Adina Howard sung through the radio as I cleaned my bedroom, getting ready for tonight. Bree was staying the night with us so we were gonna have a girls night, order some pizza, grab some snacks and have a little fun. I still stay over at kentrell's house every now and then since he's healed but I was kinda missing home. I've also been helping him with his school work since he enrolled into his GED classes and I must admit, he's doing a good ass job.

"Hey, Gracie" Sophie called out my name as she wobbled her way into the room. Finally in her third trimester, sophie was completely over her whole pregnancy. I stopped sweeping, turned down the music and looked at her as she sat on my bed

"What's up?"

"Nothing. I.. I just wanna talk to you"

"Okay" I responded, leaning the broom against the dresser and sat on the bed beside her "what's wrong?"

"If you and auntie were to never speak again, how would you feel?"

"Uhh... I um" I scratched my head and shrugged "I never thought about that. Why?"

"I was just asking"

"Sophie. You miss your momma, dontchu"

"I can't miss something I never had Gracie" Sophie responded with a slight laugh. Even though she laughed, I could still tell there was pain behind that laugh. Sophie and her mother were never close because after Sophie was born, she was too busy running behind men to take care of Sophie like she did GiGi. If it wasn't for my momma and I, who know what would happen to my cousin

"Well ima ask this... do you wish you could've had a relationship with her"

Sophie just looked at me for a second then dropped her head. A tear fell from her eye and landed on her white shirt which covered her belly that sat on her lap. "Yeah. But the sad part is, I don't even want a relationship with her anymore."

"and there's nothing wrong with that. But Sophie, you just gotta let go of all the negative people in your life. Right now your main focus is this baby. The relationship you always wanted with your momma, have that relationship with your daughter"

"How can I do that when I don't even know how to have a mother daughter bond. All I know is everything I see you and Auntie do"

"Sophie, I promise you. You say that now but the minute you're sitting there holding the baby in your arms, you're gonna feel the connection"

Sophie smiled and placed her hands on her belly "I hope so"

"Sophie!" My momma yelled, coming into the room with her pocketbook thrown across her shoulder "you ready for your doctors appointment"

She sighed and slapped her hands on the little bit of room left on her lap "Yeah. I guess. Baby joe supposed to be meeting us out there"

"Okay. Well let's go"

Sophie stood up and looked at me "I'll see you when we get back"

"Okay. Be good for mommy" I said as I rubbed her belly. Sophie laughed and followed my momma out of the room. As they left out, I could hear them speaking to someone and when I made out who's voice it was I realized it was Kentrell. The door closed and it was quiet, other than kentrell's footsteps as he came into my room. He carried a plastic folder in his hand and a book bag on his back
