"So the nigga got in the bitch face and threatened to kill her and she started cry-"

"Kd!" One of the other cooks at big Tony's , I learned his name was Marco, called out to kd as he came from the back. Kd was telling us about some altercation that happened earlier before Kentrell and I got there to grab us something to eat. Kd sighed and looked at Marco

"What nigga?"

"You're food burning AGAIN"

Kd quickly cursed himself before getting up from the seat he took beside Kentrell then made his way to the back, leaving us both to laugh at him

"That nigga always burning up some shit"

"Tell me about it. If I had a dollar for every time Kd messed up somebody's food, I'd be able to buy this restaurant AND hire better employees" I told kentrell as I poured some ketchup on the side of my fries. Our meals did come with a burger but Kd forgot the burgers so he was in the process of cooking it, but I'm very positive that it was burnt right along with the rest of his food. I dipped one of my fries in the ketchup and popped it in my mouth before speaking again

"You know what, I am SOOO tired. We had to clean and dust the entire house last night from top to bottom and we didn't finish until 3 in the morning"

"What for?" Kentrell asked, raising his left brow

"Bailey is coming home tomorrow"

"Oh for real? So what, baby joe gone stay with y'all now to help take care of the baby?"

I shrugged before reaching over to his plate and grabbed some of his fries "I think so. I never know with them two"

"Y'all got a full house over there" Kentrell chuckled and I shook my head

"Fuck that. I might be staying over at your house with you"

"You might as well" he smirked and I rolled my eyes. The doors from the back opened and Kd walked out like nothing was wrong. He casually made his way back to the table and looked at me

".. soooo it might be another 15 to 20 minutes before y'all get them burgers"

"How the fuck do you still have this job?" Kentrell asked, laughing and Kd shrugged

"I been tryina get fired since my second week. Now here I am, two years later"

Kentrell looked at Kd, amuses as he shook his head "you just can't do shit right. Can you?"

Kd smacked his lips and threw the towel he carried in his hand on his right shoulder

"Anyways Like I was saying earlier, I guess he found out that her baby wasn't really his cause he told her that he wanted all the money he spent on her baby back before tonight or the baby was gonna be without a momma and a daddy. I was like damnnnn"

Kentrell started laughing and I shook my head "that's sad"

"It's funny as hell. She wouldn't have got caught if the lady she met up with ain say shit when her boyfriend came in. As soon as the nigga came up to the table the lady started apologizing, saying she was gonna accept full responsibility of the baby since her son ain't here to take care of it and some other shit-"

"How did the lady look?" I asked and Kentrell looked at me. Kd sat beside Kentrell again and slouched back in the seat

"Shittt brownskin, skinny as hell, she look like she been through some shit with them big ass bags under her eyes. Long brown hair"

"April" I laughed to myself. So Darren got TWO whole babies out here. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there were more.

"Oh, that's the lady's name? That's why they looked at me stupid when I tried to correct them and tell em it was June"

"Fucking dumbass" Kentrell mumbled and Kd mugged him

"KD! Your food is burning... AGAIN!" Marco yelled from the kitchen. Kd didn't even bother rushing into the kitchen, instead he just sat up and looked at the both of us

"Y'all just want a salad or something cause y'all burgers ain't gone ever get done"

"Why are you not fired yet?" I asked with a laugh. He shrugged and got up, going back into the kitchen. I couldn't even complain about him not getting our burgers because we eat here for free. We could hear yelling from the kitchen, causing everybody in the restaurant to look towards the door. It sounded like Kd and big tony were arguing. Suddenly it got quiet and Kd walked out of the kitchen with his apron off and he had his car keys in his hand

"So, did you finally get fired?" I asked and he smacked his lips

"Hell no. He just sent me home for the rest of the day.. oh there go the girl I was tellin y'all about. I guess she came back" he nodded over to the door. Both Kentrell and I looked, seeing a girl walk in with a little girl in her arms. She looked like she could be about 1. The closer the girl got as she walked over to where we were, the more I realized she looked familiar

"Hey, I'm sorry I forgot to pay for the food. It was so much going on and-"

"You ain't gotta apologize" Kd told her as he held his hand out. While she reached into her pocketbook, I looked at her trying to figure out why she looked so familiar. I looked over at Kentrell and saw that he was looking at her as well. She handed Kd some money then turned to walk off, until she saw me.

"Oh, I remember you"

I looked at her funny and she laughed

"You and your boyfriend came into the Walmart I work in about a year ago. I remember checking y'all out"

It took me a minute but once I remembered, it was when I first met Kentrell and he took me to Walmart. I nodded then looked at the little girl she carried on her hip and my heart nearly stopped, seeing she looked EXACTLY like Darren. The little girl looked at me and buried her face into her momma's shirt

"You gotta excuse Grace. She's not a people person"

"Grace?" I questioned and the girl nodded with a smile

"Yeah. Her daddy named her actually. You probably knew him. His name was Darren"

Kentrell and Kd both looked at me. So not only did he have TWO kids on me, but he had the nerve to name one of them after me. How much lower can this boy get when he's already 6 feet under

"Actually, I don't" I responded and a smirk plastered across kentrell's face. The girl nodded and smiled

"Well it was good seeing you"

"Yeah" I spoke back and she headed out the door. Once she was gone, Kd put the money he gave her into his pocket

"That lady actually came back and paid for they food so this about to be the tip they asses ain't have me"

"Nigga" Kentrell said as he burst out laughing and Kd made his way out the door. When Kd was gone and it was just Kentrell and I at the table again, he looked at me. I knew that he was about to say something about the girl so I decided to say something before he did

"I'm perfectly fine. I promise" I told him and he nodded

"You say that now, but are you sure?"

"Yes baby" I grabbed his hand and smiled "I'm sure. Fuck it and fuck them. For real"

"You ready to go? Cause we obviously ain't getting our damn burgers" Kentrell asked and I laughed with a nod as we got up

"Yeah. From now on we can only eat here when Kd ain't working"

"That nigga be at work and still don't work. How you think our shit got burnt up twice"

"You right" I agreed, grabbing his hand and followed him out the restaurant
