I waited for what seemed like forever for the boys to return. I tried to fill my time with a shower, and changing my sheets, but it seemed like time was going in slow motion.

I laid flat on my back , staring up at my ceiling, counting the seconds of every minute before I heard the front door close, making me perk up.

I waited patiently for one of the boys to come in, hopefully Ian, but instead I got the shock of my fucking life.

"Mom?" I breathed out staring at the woman who hasn't been home in months, completely abandoning us.
"What?" She replied, sounding very agitated already, and from past experiences I knew that her like this was dangerous for me
"Uh why are you here?" I asked softly and she snapped her glaring gaze towards me
"Because this is my fucking house Olivia, seems you didn't get any smarter these past few months huh?" She laughed at her own comment, but I felt small again.

My mother was the main reason I grew into such a shy, timid girl, she constantly ripped into me, any way she could she'd tear me down,  name calling, screaming, humiliation, sometimes even laying her hands on me.

"Where were you?" She continued to rummage through shit as I spoke to her
"Here And there" She added vaguely
"You've been gone for months" I crossed my arms
"Yea, months of glorious time away from you. There's a reason everyone leaves you Olivia, you're intolerable. There's a reason no one loves you, you pester and harp and are an absolute bother. Jesus give it up already" she got in my face as she spoke, smiling almost with pride as I started crying
"That's not true" I bit my lip trying to stop the sobs
"How so?" She taunted
"Ethan and Flynn love me. My friends love me. My boyfriend loves me! I don't need you to love me, because everyone else does mom!" My body has pain shoot through it as she pushed me roughly into the stairs, my back slamming onto the sharp steps.

Luckily, just in time Ethan walked in, seeing our mother going to hit my terrified body, but he caught her by the wrist, pulling her arms behind her back.
"Let me go!" She yelled at him
"Jesus mom, you're high" he sighed, holding her tightly as she fought against him
"Let go of me Ethan!"
"No, because you're hurting her and I'm not gonna let you" He spoke calmly and I wiped my eyes attempting to stop the flood of tears.
"She talked back to me! I have every right!" My mom laughed
"You told me nobody loves me mom, you told me everyone leaves me, you expect me to just take that? I'm not a little girl anymore! I don't have to take your shit!" I yelled back with a shaky voice
"What's the matter with you?!" Ethan seethed and she struggled against him more as he dragged her out of the house.

Ethan came back alone, looking at me with sad eyes, offering me his hand to help me up.
I instantly cling onto him, my arms around his chest and face buried in it.
"It's ok Liv" He whispered as he rubbed my back

"Where's Ian?" I asked looking up at him
"He should be here soon, I left a little early because I had a feeling something bad was going on here" He scratched his neck.
"I saw her car drive by and I'm glad I followed my gut" he laughed slightly
"Why does she hate me so much?" I asked quietly
"I don't think she actually hates you per say, I think you remind her of herself, and she hates herself" he sighed
"She said nobody loves me" I laughed sadly
"Well, you know that isn't true, so don't listen to her" he sighed
"I'm gonna go wait for Ian" I sighed, moving to sit on the porch waiting for my knight in shining armor to reappear

"Ian!" I smiled as he started walking through the gate
"Hey baby" He smiled back, hugging me tightly
"How'd it go?"
"He won't be a problem anymore" he smirked and I sighed
"Hopefully, he's kinda crazy you never know with him" I groaned
"I think he learned his lesson" Ian replied, kissing my head
