Chapter 46

*Ali's P.O.V*

Waking up after a 2 hour nap feels amazing. I feel a bit better than I was earlier. I feel more refreshed. I am okay now and I shouldn't have anymore problems now. That's what I'm hoping. 

I got up from the bed and shook the sleep from my eye. I feel so good right now. 

I can tell it's starting to become the evening but everyone that lives here at the Hilltop is still outside working or doing whatever they feel like doing.

I got out of my room to find Jesus. He was the one that was supposedly babysitting me today and ever since I got back from my run. I found him outside on the bench by himself.

"You decided to make your presence known." He said when he saw me.

"Yeah cause I am the queen." I said.

"Don't think too far of your royalty." He laughed and I laughed with him. He knows that I am kidding.

"So, did you make my dinner?" I asked him.

"I have your dinner prepared. You want it now?"

I nodded and we went back into the building to where the kitchen was. He grabbed a plate and put it in front of me.

"I made you mac and cheese because I know how much you love it. Plus, I had to add some chicken and vegetables that we have around here, Got to let you have your protein." He said.

"I could get use to this- you know, you serving me." I teased.

"Me babysitting you was only a one time thing. I am sure after a while you'll be okay on your own. I was worried about you." 

"It was just a sudden rush. But I'm okay now and I have nothing to worry about." I said and then took a bite out of my food. 

"That's good to hear. Then now we can be able to get other things done around here and we can most certainly use your help."

"I can't be staying any longer soon enough. I'll have to go back to Alexandria and take care of Judith. She's gonna need me and I know that I'll be needed there." I said and then stopped eating.

"Why else would you go back there?" He asked confused.

"Negan is there and for some reason, I have to go and talk to him." 

"You shouldn't have to bother with Negan. He's locked for what he's needed and that's important. You should be living your life without him and not having to be near him." 

"I'll be fine. Don't worry. I won't be leaving anytime soon but I will have to. I don't know if I'll actually talk to Negan but Judith is there and I have to take care of her. I am the future leader of that community and you know that. Everyone knows that." 

"You are the future, Ali. Nothing can stop you." Jesus said and I can tell that he is being serious.

I never thought that I'll come this far when I first arrived here. I was so unsure when I first arrived at Alexandria and now I am like family to every single person here. It's crazy on how things work out and I am working hard to become a leader. It's what I want and I won't stop until I get it.

That is unless something comes your way, the voice inside my head says but I didn't listen to her. 

"When was the last time you saw Henry?" 

Henry. Oh my god, I haven't been thinking about Henry lately. I totally forgot about him and now I feel so bad. Oh my god, what is wrong with me?

"It was only a few days since." I admit.

"Do you know when you are going to the Kingdom?" Jesus asked.

"Soon, hopefully. I need to take a few days easy because of what happened and I am so out of it. I'm aiming in a couple of days that I'll go see him. I am sure he is already at Kingdom." I shrugged.

Jesus just nodded.

"Okay, you go finish your food and I'll be outside. If you need me, call me." He said and then went back out the front door.

I cannot wait to go back in my bed because then I will feel refreshed and relaxed at the same time. I need a little relaxation.

I tried to think about how the past while has been.

I lost Carl and I didn't even know what to do. Everyone was telling me that they're sorry and while it was nice of them to tell me that, it wasn't helping my case and I was just beginning to feel more terrible than I already was. I had to remember though that Carl wanted me to be strong and he doesn't want me to be unhappy the whole time, even when he was gone.

I was able to pick myself back on my feet and then try to help out and become a stronger persona and make Carl proud. I wanted to reach for the stars and make some important decisions. I wanna be the leader that Carl never got to become. 

I kinda wish I was at Alexandria right now so that I can go and visit Carl at his grave. I wanna speak to him and make it seem like he is there still. I miss him so much and it has been so hard but I'm doing my best to make it okay.

I am gonna continue to make everything okay. This is what Carl wanted. He wanted his vision to come to life. This is a new beginning. 

This is what he wanted and he will get it. 

Pretty soon I'll be going back to  Alexandria and I will go and visit Henry as soon as possible. 

Jesus is right. I am the future. 

I will takeover. I am a future leader and I'll make everyone proud.

I'm ready for the new world.

Hey guys, here is another chapter.

I actually had no idea on how I was gonna write this chapter today. I just knew that I had to continue from where the last chapter left off. This is just so bad. 

I think next chapter, she'll be going to Kingdom and Alexandria so I am hoping that the next chapter will be decent and then I'll be able to write more things that will make this book more interesting. 

Because there is still so much more to be written and some more storyline from the show will be making it's way into the story so I can't wait to get to that part and make everything make sense again. 

This is just another filler and lame chapter but I'll definitely make up for it with the next chapter that'll come out soon.

So again, I apologize.

I hope you somewhat enjoyed this chapter.
