"Nice to meet you, (Y/n)." Garrett said with a smile. You panicked slightly, not knowing what to say."Nice to meet you too! I heard about what happened, I'm really sorry." you said.
"Thanks, but it's okay. They're in a better place now, I guess." he said with a shrug.
He turned his head away slightly and you thought you saw tears build up in his eyes.
Oh, great job. Way to go, (Y/n).
"Oh my gosh, I'm such and idiot. I shouldn't have brought it up. I am so sorry." you said, smacking a hand on your forehead.
"Nah, you're fine." Garrett said. "I guess it's still just hard for me to hear."
"I understand," you said apologetically. "I'm still sorry for reminding you."
He shook his head and allowed a small smile to creep onto his face. "How many times have I told you? It's okay. It isn't your fault."
You blushed slightly and nodded, clearing your throat uncomfortably.
"So, (Y/n), you aren't from around here, are you?" he asked. "I haven't seen you at school before, have I?"
"Oh, no. I'm just passing through and I wanted to check out the library before I left." you explained.
He nodded his head. "That makes sense. Libraries are the bomb."
You laughed at his choice of words. "I suppose they are."
"(Y/n)!" you heard a voice whisper-yell at you.
You turned to see Dean walking towards you. "We have been looking for you for at least 15 minutes, why did you wander- " he stopped mid-sentence, spotting Garrett next to you.
"And who might this be?" Dean asked, glancing at Garrett, then back to you.
"Oh, um, I'm Garrett, sir." Garrett said, and stuck his hand out awkwardly.
Dean stared at Garrett's hand for a second, before shaking it. You could tell Dean gripped a bit too hard because Garrett winced slightly.
"Whatever, so, (Y/n), we gotta go, 'kay?" Dean turned back to you.
"Oh, okay." you said, a bit disappointed.
Dean walked off, and before you followed, you turned to Garrett.
"Sorry, that's my older brother." you said, liking the way "older brother" sounded. "Anyway, I have to go. It was nice meeting you, Garrett."
"Yeah, nice meeting you too!" he said. "See you around maybe." he shot you a wink and you waved and walked away, blushing madly.
You wouldn't deny it, he was good looking, but you would also never see him again.
Oh well. You thought. At least I met someone.
You hopped into the backseat and looked up to find Dean staring at you accusingly.
"What?" you asked.
"What was what?! You know what! We had a rule! No talking to boys! That was a boy!!" Dean hissed.
"Excellent observation," you shot back. "Besides, I was helping with the case. That was Garrett McBride, the victims son, remember?"
"Whatever." Dean grumbled.
"That's great, (Y/n)! Did you find out anything from him?" Sam inquired.
"No, he seemed really sensitive about the subject, and I don't blame him, so I didn't ask anything." you replied, remembering your poor choice of conversation topic.
"Well, that's alright. We can always try some other time." Sam said, making you feel a teeny bit better.
You thought back to your conversation in the library and you realized you forgot to show Sam your book.
You were about to bring that up, but Dean spoke first. "So, do you like him?"
"What? No!" you insisted, your face heating up against your will. "I only just met him a few minutes ago, that would be weird."
Sam and Dean shared that stupid look that they did quite often.
"Yeah, okay." Sam said, clearly putting a few pieces together.
"Guys!" you groaned. "Stop it! I do not like him! End of story."
Your (s/c) cheeks now flushed bright red. What the heck is wrong with me? you wondered.
"Alright, alright." Dean said, and there was a moment of silence.
You tapped your fingers against your leg awkwardly.
"But did you kiss him?"
"DEAN!"
