It should have been me.

That's all I can say. It should have been me. I was selfish. Pompous. Self-absorbed, family-abandoning. A git - the world's largest. And you were the one taken. That doesn't see, fair, but apparently life isn't.

Because after two years of ignoring the slight of even a single thread of our signature ginger hair, all of you just accepted me. And people say it's because that's what families do: accept and forgive. I didn't though. I didn't return when it was revealed that you were all right. I didn't forgive you, because there was nothing to forgive you for. And that Christmas, when me and Rufus visited in attempt to recruit Harry... I could have said something then. I could have made amends, yet I didn't.

So, I guess our last Christmas all together was... Well, yours and George's second year at Hogwarts.

Long time, eh? I don't know about this "writing a letter will help" stuff. I udulaly love writing, but when it's something like this...

Well, it's not exactly easy, to say the least.

-Missing you always,

Percy
