"You touch me and it's almost like we knew that there will be history..."
They weren't friends, they had the same group of friends but they weren't friends. They had been friends before, best friends if I might say but that was when they were kids. They didn't have a fight or anything — things happen and people just have grown away from each other and that's what happened to them, they went from best friends to friends, to acquiesces to strangers.
Well, they would still hang out once in a while when their friends would get together, and sometimes they would give a quick wave for each other on classes or like one another Instagram's post once in a while but that was about it, that was the closest they would get.
So it all started as a joke from their friends, but even before the laughs they already knew it wouldn't be a good one — it was in one of their gets together at Bailey's house, they were playing games and having some bonding time by making pizzas together when they started to talk about their lives.
"I don't know how Kaycee do it, I think that if I was in a partnership for that long I would have killed my partner by now." Said Bailey.
"Glad I never asked you to be my partner then, baby." Ken joked making everyone laugh and Bailey roll her eyes.
"It's not that hard actually." In reality, it was very hard because Kaycee and Gabe could never be on the same page but answering something like that was easier — besides she hated being the subject so she just wanted to drop it. "You just have to keep the energy and be nice to each other."
"Let's never try to set up Sean to be a partner with someone then, can you imagine him being nice?" Josh jocked making everyone laugh — it was common sense that Sean was a bit of a grumpy cat.
"Oh shut up." He said, focusing on his pizza.
"Imagine Sean and Kaycee dancing together," Julian said. "She's there all sunshine and rainbows and then there's Sean and his grinch face."
They all laughed, even Kaycee but she didn't dare to face him — but when she went to place her pizza in the oven she could swear she heard him saying to himself: 'yeah like if that would ever happen'.
She thought the same, there wasn't any chance of them partnering up one day because they wouldn't even talk to each other properly.
Well, that was what they both thought until they were in Jojo's class a week later and the next scene happened:
"Okay, I want to try something new." She said speaking to herself but talking loud so everyone could hear it — Kaycee had just danced so she wasn't expecting to be called for this 'something new' thing that Jojo had in her mind. "Kaycee, come back here please."
Everyone cheered for her as she walked back into the center with a very confused expression on her face. Jojo kept herself quiet for a few more seconds as she scanned the room searching for someone else— when she called his name out it was a surprise for everyone. "Sean, where are you? Come here please."
For a few seconds, no one clapped or cheered, because no one really understood what was happening — Kaycee had a partner, she would never dance with anyone that it wasn't him and Sean was Sean, he would never do duets with anyone at all.
