"you touch me"
Sean was sure with himself that he didn't want to try anything with Kaycee anymore, because in his mind it was going to be for the best and he was trying very hard to believe in that because he didn't want to be hurt again.
But getting over his feelings for her or even trying to hide them the way was harder than he expected.
It has been a week since they began rehearsing for Tessandra's project and they got themselves around the choreo in technic just fine but they were lacking the feelings, the chemistry, and the connection because Sean couldn't even look into her eyes without wanting to run away or kiss her.
They were scheduled to record in four days and depending on the end product of the video, Tessandra was going to recruit them so on top of not being able to be close to Kaycee he was also nervous about ruining everything for them.
It was a huge chance and Tessandra wanted them as a duo act, so they needed to make the partnership work to not lose this opportunity — the choreographer had no idea of their personal problems with each other but she sensed that things were off, but well anyone with eyes could see it.
"Okay, guys!" She called stopping the song. "You still dancing like robots and I don't know what's happening."
Sean and Kaycee drifted a bit from each other as the woman approached them. "I understand that it must be weird for you to be in a new partnership and having to trust someone new like this, Kaycee."
Then she turned Sean. "And I understand that a partnership it's something new for you, Sean. I get that all of this can be a bit weird."
You have no idea. Sean thought to himself as the woman kept going. "But I wanted you two because of how great storytellers you are and right now I'm not feeling it."
The woman turned to Sean. "I haven't told you this yet but she knows, what did I tell you about what I saw in two, Kaycee?"
Kaycee took a deep breath, not daring to face him. "That you saw something that you haven't seen in a partnership in a long time, a unique way of connection in which it feels like... like we are one when dancing." Her voice was low at the very end. "That we complemented each other."
She looked at him, eyes hoping to find him but he kept staring at the choreographer in front of them — Kaycee exhaled, tired of trying.
"Exactly." The woman kept going. "You two are something natural dancing together, organic. The work that you put out together doesn't come out fake and I need you two to be on the same page... we are done for today but I'll leave homework for you two..."
She took some flashcards from her purse, giving it to the girl. "These are some bounding question, take some time this weekend and just play this game with each other, a partnership it's all about knowing the other and connecting yourself with who this other person is."
The woman gave a quick kiss to each of them. "And having fun with each other, it doesn't matter if you are portraying a sad story." She kept going as she walked away. "It's not a request, it's an order. Love you."
The choreographer left and they were alone with each other, Kaycee turned to talk to him and maybe to ask if he wanted to try the flashcard thing but before she could say anything he spoke first.
