Alec's POV

Today Red was going with Ryder to meet with several other Alphas and Luna's from near by, and it's my job to make sure she's ready on time.

I could hear music as I knocked on the fifth floor door. Repeatedly. It was no use. She couldn't hear me over the music.

Opening the door I noticed the music was louder than I thought and she must have been getting ready in the bathroom. She has to go in ten minutes. Again she didn't hear me. So much for her heightened senses.

I pulled open the door and as soon as my brain functioned again I slammed it shut. Alpha's gonna kill me.

Red's POV

I was getting ready in the bathroom for a meeting Ryder had asked me to attend. Alec kept knocking and I kept yelling back.

Guess he hadn't heard me since the bathroom door flew open. Did I mention I was stark naked, about to get dressed? Well yeah. Our eyes locked for a split second before he slammed the door shut.

Well shit.

Ryder would be here soon to pick me up so I pulled on my undergarments and a big robe before walking out to see Alec still looking stunned.

"Alec."

He turned to me with big doe eyes. "I'm so sorry, I assumed you were almost ready. I didn't mean too"

I put my hand over his mouth. "Get out of here. Ryder will be here soon." his eyes doubled with fear.

I took back my hand and just then the door flew open.

Three things happened in the next ten seconds.

1)Damon took control.
2)I was pulled behind him.
3)Alec was dangling by his throat.

"What did you see?" Damon demanded in his Alpha tone.

Even while going cross-eyed from lack of oxygen, Alec flinched back. A straggled noise came from his throat and their eyes fogged over.

Grabbing Damon's arm I pulled and pulled trying to get poor Alec free to no avail. Everything was frozen, then alive all at once.

A deadly snarl ripped out of Damon's throat before Alec was flung across the room, into the TV before crashing to the floor.

I ran in front of Damon, drawing his attention to me. "It was an accident Damon. Don't hurt him." his arms held me tight and for a moment I thought he had seen reason, until he whispered in my ear.

"It's okay love. I'll make it quick."

I had to think quicker as he moved towards Alec. I hated to fake it, but I had no choice. Damon would only hesitate if he thought I wasn't okay.

This time I wrapped my arms around him from behind, holding tightly to his shirt and gave a small sniffle.

His entire body froze before he twisted around in my grasp to see my face buried in his back.

Carefully he scooped me up. Looking over his shoulder I saw Alec slowly getting up. 'Run!' I mouthed to him before laying my head on Damon's shoulder.

Alec was gone when Damon set me on the bed. "I'm so sorry love." he whispered, brushing back my hair.

"It's fine really." I assured. It was a little awkward for sure, but I wasn't that bothered by it. Nothing anyone could so now.

Damon's fists clenched. "No. It's unforgivable. No man may see what's mine, what I have not." He growled possessively. "I must mate you." my heart rate shot up when he said that, taking a step closer.

I think he heard because his voice dropped to a soft whisper. "I cannot lose you." the thought of him seeing my scars terrified me.

Shooting off the bed his hand caught my wrist. "We'll discuss this later. We're going to be late for the meeting." slowly he let go and I went back in the bathroom to get dressed.

The drive was silent. The meeting went fine but I think everyone noticed the tension in the room.

We were driving home and had just got back into the territory when Ryder pulled over and parked.

"Dammit Red!" He threw his hands up and turned to face me. "I'm sorry. Damon got control. It's in our nature to be possessive. Wolves mate for life and we won't risk losing you. We know you love us and we love you too, but it will always be in the back of our mind." I didn't know how to respond.

Instead I leaned over and brushed my lips over his, my hand on his cheek gently. The love shining in his eyes when I pulled away melted my heart. "I know." I whispered, my nose tip to tip with his.

The sharp crack of a knock on the window made us both jump. Outside my window stood a warrior wolf. I moved back into my seat, embarrassed and rolled down the window. "What?" Ryder growled grumpily.

"Sorry Alpha, but you're blocking the training route." The guy mumbled.

"That's all?!" Ryder looked ready to kill him.

"Our bad, we'll get out of your way." I told him with a smile.

Smiling back he nodded and I rolled up the window.

Ryder looked grumpy and I rolled my eyes at him.

We went back to our room and I made dinner.

The two of us sat on the couch watching some scify movie. "Damon and I long since decided we will wait for you, but it's too late for you to reject us." he whispered.

Looking up our faces were inches apart. Wrapping my arms around his neck I pulled him closer. "As if." with that I crashed my lips to his.
