Druex

"Hey man!"

Looking up from the switch board, my sound guy came in.

"Sorry I'm late bruh." We dapped. "My son's sick and his mom had to work.

"It's cool man. I know how that can be." I laughed lightly.

"So you ready to put in this work?"

"Yup."

Getting up from the chair, I walked into the booth and got to work. As the instrumental came on, I just let the lyrics flow as I did songs for my new mixtape.

Midway through another song, the music cut off, causing me to open my eyes.

"Wassup man?"

"Bruh your phone been blowing up over here."

Sighing, I took off my headphones and walked out the booth. Grabbing it off the table, I unlocked it and clicked to see I had six missed calls. Seeing who it was from, I sucked my teeth and locked back my phone.

"You still messing with her man?"

"Not right now, no."

"No wonder she blowing up your phone."

"And she can keep doing it too. I'm tryna be right with my girl."

"You're girl? Who's that?" He laughed.

Everybody on the west coast knew I had an image when it came to females. Few knew about Alei and my daughter simply because I liked to keep my personal life private.

"Alei." I smirked.

"Word? Y'all cool now?"

"We trying to be. Especially for our daughter's sake."

"She put that best sex down on you huh?" He smirked.

"Man, you don't even know." I laughed.

That night I had sincerely apologized to Alei, she went in. I had missed that side of her to be honest and I knew she missed us.

"We said we would try the co parenting thin but I honestly want my family back. So once we get back on track and we settled, I'm gonna ask her to move out here with me."

"Damn, you got this all planned out huh?"

"Yea man but you know these females out here and how they be so persuasive."

"Especially that one who is ringing down your phone."

"The longer I ignore her ass, eventually she'll fall back."

"Now you know she ain't gonna be that easy to shake off." He laughed as I got back in the booth.

"Man I ain't been to a club in a minute." I  sipped my drink.

Looking around at everyone in here, I nodded to the music. After my session in the studio, I got a call from one of my home boys, asking me to make an appearance at his new club. Sitting in the VIP section, I watched as everyone came in and the females on the dance floor doing their thing.

"Why you so quiet over here man?"

"Just observing. The vibes is nice." I nodded.

"Yea it is."

Taking another sip in my drink, my phone rang. Smiling at the sight of Alei's name, I got up and went over to a quiet area.

"Hey."
