"Everything finalized for the party love?"

"Mhmm."

"She sleeping?"

"Yeah."

Laying on the couch, I flipped through the t.v. looking for something to watch. I honestly wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone.

"You ok?"

"I'm fine mommy."

Catching my attention, I stopped on BET when I saw Trinidad James. Being from here, I listened to some of his music.

🎶What you know about love?
Well love know about you
When I try something new
You refuse to believe that my love is true...🎶

"Swear music has changed so much." I mumbled.

"So you're not going to tell me what's wrong?"

Sighing heavily, I sat up. Changing the channel, I settled for another show.

"What did he do?" She asked again.

"Nothing."

"How nothing?"

"That's the thing." I looked at her. "He hasn't done anything."

"I'm confused."

"Druex left three weeks ago mommy. The last time we spoke was the night when he got back after that, I haven't heard from him since."

"You ca-"

"Don't even ask me that because you know I have and I've either gotten voicemail instantly or it just rang. I'm done mommy, seriously done."

"Alei?"

"No. I'm tired of the run around. I'm tired of him just coming in and upsetting everything in our lives, I'm TIRED!" I yelled before breaking down.

As my mother held me in her arms, I just cried. I hates feeling like this, I hated when Durex would just play with my emotions and I hated the fact that I always let him.

"I know baby." She hugged me. "I know. But things will get better soon ok."

"When?" I cried. "When will it get better? What have I done to deserve this. Mirah don't even deserve this." I looked at her. "I just want her to be happy."

"And she is."

"It don't feel that way. The way she is when its all of us is different and I can't help but feel like she is paying for some shit I did."

"Listen to me." She held my face. "Amirah is happy and loved. She has you and me and the rest of her family. Its not your fault she has a temporary father."

"If I didn't get pregnant-"

"She wouldn't be here so don't even think about it that way."

"I wasn't even suppose to-"

"But you did and if it is that she is your only child then you are the one to give her all the love in the world. Don't let his short comings upset you from raising your child, you hear me."

"Yes mommy." I nodded.

"Good. Now wipe your eyes and go pour me some wine. Dealing with you and that child father of yours is stressing."

Laughing, I wiped my face and got up. Heading into the kitchen, I decided to text Druex one last time.

": I don't know what is keeping you from at least checking on your daughter, but just know she's good and she'll always be good. Don't worry about us like you're already doing."
