Flug: "j I M i n Y crICkets....!!"

Y/N: "Oh, sorry... Didn't mean to sneak up on you like that..."

You had gone to the lab to see if you could help with Flug's experaments.

To be completely honest, you were avoiding Black Hat.

After you realized your feelings for him, conversation always seemed awkward to you...

You had tapped Flug on the shoulder, making him nearly spill a vile of fluid.

Flug: "No, no, it's fine, it's fine..."

You looked over at what was on the work table.

Y/N: "Watcha working on?"

He held up the small metal object so that you could see.

Flug: "It's a letter delivering device.  It can travel over thousands of miles using nothing but fish oil...  At least, it will, once I'm done..."

Y/N: "Can I help?"

Flug: "Uuummmmm.... Yeah. Yeah, you can hand me that wrench over there..."

You walked over to the tool box and peered inside.

Y/N: "This one?"

Flug: "No, it's the one with the red handle. Here, let me show you..."

Flug came over and showed you the difference between the two.

Little did either of you know, a whisp of pink smoke was crawling it's way across the floor, up the table, and into the hunk of metal.

Flug: "Alright, do you understand?"

Y/N: "Yeah, I think so."

Flug: "Good! Now, bring it over here..."

You brought the wrench to the work table.
Flug was following you when a burst of red and green launched at his head.

Demencia: "I wanna help, too!!"

Flug: "DeMencIA! Get off! I'm right in the middle of assembling a major product!!"

As they wrestled with each other, you noticed the invention right by your hand stir a little bit.

You raised an eyebrow as it slowly lifted in the air.

Y/N: "Uh... hey, Flug?"

He couldn't hear you over Demencia's cackling.

You looked back up the metal object.  Suddenly, it shot forward, toward the door.
Naturally you chased it, hoping Flug would soon be backing you up.

But you couldn't lose this thing.

You chased it outside; a painful reminder that you forgot your coat.  But there wasn't time.

It flew and you ran, it flew and you ran....
It flew until you ran out of breath.

Your lungs were burning holes in your chest and your legs shook with ache.

Pretty soon, you wouldn't be able to keep up.

The good news: It stopped.

The bad news:   It stopped over a frozen lake.

It was completely lifeless, now. Sitting on top of the frozen water like a dead fish.

You tentatively placed your foot on the surface.
It seemed... fairly stable...

Another foot, and you were officially walking on the ice.

It was so close...

You couldn't stop now.
