They walked into their apartment and Wally could tell something was wrong. He knew something was wrong from the moment Dick had woken up at the hospital. "Alright, are you okay?" Wally finally relented.

Dick rose an eye, "Yeah, it's just a shoulder wound babe. Doesnt even hurt."

"Not that. I can tell something is up. I'm here to listen you know?" Wally said and took Dick's hand.

"Walls, it's just that, I was there to pick up a runaway, tell her everything was going to be okay, and take her home to her family. I found her and told her everything was going to be okay and she came outside with me to the car and when the gunshots started I pulled out my gun to fire back. I turned to my side where she was and she...she was the first person hit. She was gone. Then the gunman shot me and killed 8 more people, injuring several more, before I could stop him. I couldnt even save her. I promised I'd bring her home," Dick said.

Wally pulled Dick into his chest, "Dick, you can't save everyone. Okay? You did save every other teen in that building though and you reminded that girl that her family loves her."
