Chapter 11

"No. Its all wrong." I said walking into the kitchen as Natalie the designer followed me
"Mrs. Derosa its the only way." She said as Luca raised his eyebrows at the commotion
"Natalie you cant design a baby room yet. Im not even pregnant. So stop showing me ideas. I dont like them anyway." I sighed grabbing a water from the fridge
"Alright. Thats enough work for today. Natalie thank you. We will see you Monday to start on the downstairs. I will keep her out of the house I promise." He said walking her out
"Whats your problem?" He asked smugly coming back in
"This dinner tonight has me stressed." I said walking away
"And I want a decorated house." I yelled as I heard him follow behind me
"Babe just a criminal tip. When wives are brought to dinner nothing bad will happen. I promise. Now get your cute little ass ready." He said slapping my ass to get into the bathroom

"You look fine. Beautiful as always." He said as I fidgeted with my dress again in the car
"I know but its the head of the Cartel." I mumbled
"And Im going to be the head of the Italian mafia. Are you scared of me?" He asked
"Only when the Yankees lose." I said with a small smile
"Maria is very nice Momma usually has coffee with her twice a year." He said helping me calm down as we pulled up

"Luca wow you have grown." A man around Angelos age I took to be Rodrigo as he pulled him into a hug
"Rodrigo this is my wife Carrie. Carrie this is Rodrigo and his wife Maria." Luca said introducing us to each other
"Nice to meet you." I said holding my hand out to shake but was pulled into a hug by both of them
"Lets eat." Rodrigo said enthusiastically

We made small talk for a good hour while we ate.
"Lets get down to business." Rodrigo said as I filled with fear
"Yes lets." Luca said putting his hand on my thigh
"So you had your guys selling drugs in my area, sí?" He asked
"No. They were morons. You know my family Rodrigo. You watched me grow up. I have them in holding for you to deal with." Luca said in his mafia voice
"You have them for me to punish?" He asked surprised
"Of course I do. Marco already beat the shit out of them because it caused Kat to get shot." He said bitterly
"I only sent the best out. They knew not to kill just frighten. Sorry Kathrine got hurt in the attack." Maria said taking me by surprise
"You can have them and do whatever it is you do in the Cartel. Kill them I dont care. You know I refuse to run and deal drugs or women." He said standing up and reaching his hand out to make the deal
"We will keep an eye out just incase." He said standing up as well
"As you should. You will keep me in the loop about gun runners right?" He asked as the shook hands
"Absolutely." Rodrigo smiled as they sat down
"Bring out the dessert." He said as the waiters came out with dessert
"Marco bring them in." Luca said on his phone
"Here boss." He said with two of the young bouncers from my club
"Sam? Nick?" I asked surprised as they were barely standing as Marco left them with us
"Pleasure doing business with you." Rodrigo said walking over to them pulling out his gun from his back shooting them in the forehead
"First kill?" Maria asked me as she took a bite of her cheesecake ask I nodded yes
"Dont worry it gets easier." She said with a small smile
"I wanna go home." I mumbled in Italian as Luca nodded and excused us making up an excuse of needing to go check on something at home

We got into the car and I immediately started sobbing.
"Carrie breath. Its going to be ok." Luca said trying to calm me down
"Sam was working to help get custody of his daughter and Nick was paying off his moms hospital bills." I said in between sobs and trying to catch my breath in doing so
"They not only crossed us but crossed the Cartel. If they came to you for a raise would you have given them one?" He asked and I quietly said no
"And why is that?" He asked
"They are new and unexperienced. Let drunk idiots come in and start fights." I mumbled
"See morons. And we dont have their blood on our hands." He said before telling his driver to take us to my favorite ice cream store

"Babe. Have you seen my cufflinks from our wedding?" Luca asked me the next morning and I grumbled
"Its Sunday. Why are you waking me up at...6:45 in the morning?" I asked looking at my phone
"I need to go into the office. Something went wrong with the shipment Friday night and I was just told about it." As I pointed over to our closet
"Are they in here?" He asked
"Yes in your drawer with your other cufflinks." I mumbled back into my pillow
"Found them. Thank you bello. I love you. Have a good day I will see you tonight." He said kissing my forehead
"Luca?" I asked before he walked out
"Yes." He said pausing
"Your tie is off center and I want my damn house finished." I said before making him smile and come back to me to fix his tie
"I love you Luca." I said after I fixed it and looking up at him
"I love you too. Dont look at me or else I am going to be late to the office." He said fidgeting with his shirt I was wearing
"You are the boss right?" I asked seductively as he bit his lip and made the decision to go in late
